the *vibe* of NYC is what it's all about, not simply the tall buildings...and as far as food: it IS radically different from the UK - it tastes great! :D;) haha. seriously tho, i lived in london 1.5 years...and yea, i did discover great food there, but NOTHING in comparison to home. ethnic foods especially - outside of indian - far superior.

ooohhh getting defensive there D2D :D

its not radically different.... radically different would be slow roast lamb cooked on the moon.... its not radically different.

and far superior... i think you missed off 'imo' ... as after all it is only your opinion... and leave I Brisk I to his... he's entitled to it. :)
oh scary... 40000 morbidly obese christians wearing fanny packs invading europe is probably the least scariest thing since I watched an edited version of The Care Bears movie in an extremely brightly lit cinema.

Y'know, I've wanted to go to New York for a few years but could never really justify going. When PJ announced the shows there I jumped at the chance to go! It's a decent excuse aside from 'I just wanna go there'.

Anyway, for those travelling to Europe, it's pretty easy to get around. Flights are cheap from country to country. You can get a flight from New York to Dublin for $353 all in with Aer Lingus on Aug 12th! From there you can get to Amsterdam for €50, or Eindhoven for €40. Btw, I find Amsterdam to be highly over-rated and would go to Eindhoven over it any day! Train or fly to Berlin (flights are about €60). Flight from Berlin to Manchester, €50. Train from Manchester to London, about €20. London to New York, cheapest is €290, direct is about €600.

So, for between €600-€1000 you can travel around :D I've too much time on my hands!

  • Ok so I have a tentative vacation planned for Aug 12-20 so I can hit all 4 dates in Europe. I have been gathering travel information but I can not find any of the cheap flights from Amsterdam to Berlin or from Amsterdam to Manchester. Can anyone point to to the right direction on which airlines or websites to check. Thanks.

I used transavia via ebookers for Amsterdam - Berlin Flights - about £70ish. Originally searched through http://www.kayak.co.uk/ (just checked and flights have gone up to £78).
