there's anything to see in Manchester?

spoken like a true southerner... ;)

you've never even been to Manchester... dont dismiss it... its got plenty to see and do. 8-)

    Its an immense city...
    It does?!

I went to Uni at Manchester, and love it, it's a great place to live. But I really don't see what it has to offer for people visiting for a few days other than fans of the Smiths. :? Unless you count that london eye ripoff.

it offers a shitload more than standing in a fucking queue at the MEN Arena all day thats for sure.. ;)

The Lowry? Arndale for shopping? Peoples Museum... christ even walking arounf the place and having a few ales and stuff... been a while since i was there... but its a big place with lots to do... and most folks are only visiting it or sightseeing for a day at most?

i'm just not a fan of queuing to see a band from 6am in the morning...
oh scary... 40000 morbidly obese christians wearing fanny packs invading europe is probably the least scariest thing since I watched an edited version of The Care Bears movie in an extremely brightly lit cinema.

hehe Hey, I never said queueing all day was great!

I guess there are museums and shops, but if someone's been to a museum before or has ever been shopping it's nothing amazing. Certainly not many photographic scenes, it's mainly just a grand metropolitan vibe on a nice day :)

I'm quite excited about the manc show, haven't been to manc in over a year. Seeing friends before a PJ gig will be great :D might even go to 5th ave afterwards for old times sake

i queued from about 10ish at wembley and ended up right behind Mr and Mrs Evolutionary :D:D:D

Yup, that three and a half hours queueing before you REALLY helped!

Lesson to be learned here... turn up earlier than soupy or you'll be looking at the whole gig through my camera ;)

no, lesson to be learned is to not stand behind evolutionary or you will be looking at his camera! and if you are not careful, he will probably take sly photos of you as well!;)

    yeah..that's totally me
plus it's not like I can't possibly find something there to buy I can't at home in London..

we'll be having more than a few ale the night before!
that's actually the only interesting thing I heard about Manchester: the nightlife... and that one I count on seeing ;)

I really want to be as close as possible as I'm a tad on the short side  . But at the same time hate getting up early. Oh the dilemma!

Well, as there is no early admission and we're going to have to battle with the GA masses, you'll probably need to be there by at least 7am to get front row...
Wembley 07 I started queueing at about half 6 and there were still about 10-15 people ahead of me... and that was at only one of the two entrances (I got lucky and our door opened first). If there's more than one entrance then all bets are off and it's pot luck... even if you're at the front of the queue.

In Wembley 2007 I was there at 3 in the morning and two people were there q'ing already... :-D

can't believe people get there that early! suppose it shows how hardcore some fans are though. personally i just cant stadn queueing alllll day!

i'm not bothered about getting on the rail although when i did get the rail in dublin 06 it was amazing... but for these two shows i'll probably just show up afternoon time and just see what happens... as long as im not at the back i'll be happy.

Queuing is alright for me, but there has to be loads of people i know and if you got some beers too that always helps. Unless its the Astoria and can't drink in the queue but you can on the otherside of the pavement... R.I.P

I'm sure I've drank in the Astoria queues...but no more
actually that was the worse thing about the queuing at the Vic.. nice hot weather, comfy chairs..but no beer
queuing up all day is more fun in civilised countries where you can drink in public ;)
