Now now children... play nicely with Allen, he's too posh to stay in the Docklands, don't you know!

Al - a drink after the gig would be lovely... Mine's a Jack and Diet Coke, ta... ;)

I too have that sneaking suspicion... this may be a rather spiffing lil' trip down to The Big Smoke... 8-)
Been to this many PJ shows: Reading 2006 London 2007 Manchester & London 2009 Dublin, Belfast, London, Nijmegen & Berlin 2010 Manchester 1 & Manchester 2 2012...

... and I still think Drive-By Truckers are better.

  • Hey guys! Aussie guy here living in london, just got 10 club tix for london! And Manchester! I've seen the band a few times before but never in the UK/Europe, and i'm super pumped! Hey i'm not absolutely definately sure, but theres a good chance i could have a spare 10 club tic if anyone is looking for one? I'm really not sure yet but let me know. I'll be going alone most likely so maybe a bit of company could be cool too. Anyway i'm up for coming along for sure! Cheers.

you can always take two shirts with you. PJ one for the meetup and a plain one for the show.

taking two shirts wouldn't be a bad idea anyhoos. that way you'd have a "fresh" shirt to change into after the show. hmm.

I'm joining this discussion late, but I'm going to be coming over from the US for the show as part of my vacation (also hitting dublin) but can you recommend a decent hotel for me and my wife? I'm trying to stay close to the sights as I've never been to London before (except for flying into Heathrow and driving to Salisbury for work).

I don't need anything fancy, just something that won't scare the mrs.

Anyone familiar with the City Hotel a little north of the Tower Bridge? That seems to be the best one I found that isn't really expensive. (I'll be there for four nights)

thanks for the help, I appreciate it.
-one thing to remember, always have a good time, all the time

Good man dude. I dont know many in Dublin, there's a few around temple bar but it tends to get pretty busy at night there. It is central though. There's a good few bed and breakfasts around south circular road which is only a 15 minute walk from the city centre. Last time I was in London I stayed in a pretty good hotel near hyde park and it was pretty cheap too. I can't remember the name of it though, ill have to check my very old e-mails.

Add me, bit the bullet and bought a pair today. Going to the Manchester show with friends then getting train down on the Tuesday. Got seated tickets as I will probably be knackered and also means I dont have to get there early. Unsure who I am going with to London with so I might join in on a forum drink :)
