I actually really like London, some of the bars certainly beat the shit out of smelly Flippers (that I'll still go to   ) Btw, the most expensive pint in London is nowhere near as much as a cheap pint of piss in Dublin! €5 or £4 at least!

I also really enjoyed the tube ride that Keith brought us on the last time :D

    The Big Red - open till 1am http://www.metaltravelguide.com/mtg/ind ... &Itemid=56

    Crobar - open till 3am http://www.crobar.co.uk/

The Intrepid Fox - open till 1am http://www.intrepidfox.com/

And The Underworld, that I seem to have an unfounded dislike for. Yer man that played with PJ in MSG last year (CJ Ramone, whoever he is  ) is playing on the 18th Aug. Open till 4am, but quite 'spensive http://www.theunderworldcamden.co.uk/

    ETA - I also found someone else asking - http://uk.answers.yahoo.com/question/in ... 329AAZjkQp

Crobar is absolutely tiny... only need 10 people to turn up and it's full! :D

This has already been pointed out ;) and plans for pre-show meet ups are pretty much sorted. I'll be posting them either later this week or early next. As much as the Intrepid Fox is open 'til 1, we're not expecting the show to finish 'til about 11 then people have to get out and get there. As most people are staying at the Docklands, it'll probably be beers at their bar 'til late.

    14 DAYS PEOPLE!!

    cool!

London is shit really isnt it... no parks near that venue and all the pubs are crap and no doubt are closed by 11pm.

most exciting city in the world?... aye, if you are a concrete loving nun.

to be fair, the O2 is in the docklands part of the city which is the business and financial district. if you go hunting for late night bars on wall street in NY you won't find any either! :ugeek: :D

exactly... NY is shit as well.

    8-)
oh scary... 40000 morbidly obese christians wearing fanny packs invading europe is probably the least scariest thing since I watched an edited version of The Care Bears movie in an extremely brightly lit cinema.

Well, North Greenwich is on the Jubilee line. We could easily have a few jars anywhere between Stratford and Waterloo. I'll get my beer compass working.

  • I wouldn't go drinking in Stratford, the place is a dive - I know this as I have to change trains there to get home from the O2.

There are a fair few bars in the O2 itself that stay open till midnight, I was in one after Kings of Leon at the end of June.

As a word of advice, if the weather is hot I would wear shorts - I had GA tickets for one KoL show, and seating for the other, both days were really hot and sunny and it was ridiculously hot in the venue. Wearing jeans was not comfortable

I'm from Australia. I don't really think this place has a summer. I laughed when the locals tried to convince me there's a heatwave going on around me. Then I felt like crying cos I'm gonna stay here, but hey, this place has awesome live music constantly unlike back home, so I have to stay.

  • London's weather is best described as 'variable' - it was lovely and sunny yesterday, I sat out in my garden and had a nice gin and tonic when I got home from work, yet today it's grey, miserable and looks like rain.

Regardless of the weather, if you've got GA tickets I recommend shorts, it gets damn hot in there...

Agreed. I'll be wearing a skinny t and denim skirt... with a rain coat packed in my bag
Been to this many PJ shows: Reading 2006 London 2007 Manchester & London 2009 Dublin, Belfast, London, Nijmegen & Berlin 2010 Manchester 1 & Manchester 2 2012...

Then DLR to Canning Town change to Jubilee line to North Greenwich for the O2. Should take about 10 minutes. Bonus after the gig we'll be going the opposite way on the tube to most people
So are we strangers now? Like rock and roll and the radio?

Yes, but this is by DLR. I ordered train 10:35 from Manchester to West Ham. Traveltime 3:14. I take the tube or a taxi from West Ham station.

That should take ten minutes. Jubilee line West ham to Canning Town then DLR to East India

You can use http://www.tfl.gov.uk to plan any tube routes (this will include the DLR) ... seems strange the train would go to West Ham :?

  • I must take the Underground from London Euston. This is what the mail says:

Well you can then do the route advised above from West Ham to East India.

I don't know if the ticket you receive will only let you go from Euston to West Ham or whether it may let you go from Euston to East India slightly quicker by sticking to tube and DLR. You would probably need to ask ticket staff at Euston. But you could go Northern Line Euston to London Bridge. Jubilee Line London Bridge to Canning Town. DLR Canning Town to East India. Could work out about half an hour quicker.

The journey planner on www.tfl.gov.uk will allow you to check and print out routes :)

Quick question guys. This is my first PJ gig through ten club pre-order. Do you basically just turn up with ID and give your name at the counter and get your tix or do you bring the confirmation e-mail from ten club? Just wondering cause the e-mails arent personalised or have a number on them so Im a little confused. Plus I stupidly put my nickname of Eddie into ten club instead of Edward which is on my passport. Lil ol' me is quite paranoid!

You can change your name in your ten club info. I did that before my first 10c ticket collection as I was worried about them not matching too.

You do only need your photo id but I tend to print off my order confirmation from the Goods section too as has your name etc on it.

Your nickname won't matter! I have Jenny on all 10c correspondance, but the name on my passport is Jennifer, and I've never had any bother picking up tickets.

There should be another mail sent around from 10c this weekend sometime with more info on picking up tickets etc.
