When I was 17, I had a car accident and my best friend was comatized with a severe brain injury. Sometimes, when he would open his eyes at the hospital, I would get excited because I thought he was looking at me. Then reality would set in and I would notice that he was not focused but rather staring blankly in my direction. That song, in a weird way makes me think of him. I miss him and the song helps me remember him.

Love it also. It reminds me of visiting old friends, and leaving before we've had a proper chance to reconnect. Never getting to stay long enough to catch up with each other. Love that part of the song.

I've been listening to the 09/30/09 LA bootleg alot lately and my fave part is the intro and 1st verse of Porch. initially it's just Ed jamming by himself then the rest of the band start to come in and it's just a cool, mellow start to the song before it goes crazy! Love it!!
