Once some asshole down the street kept revving (sp?) up his stupid Fast and the Furious car at 2:30am. It woke my son up, and I wasn't too pleased.
If someone here rang 911 for that, you wouldn't get any help, just transferred to the local station and warned never to do it again. How in gods name is that an emergency?!
I rang 911 just once - a girl I worked with collapsed on the floor.
Too many to count. Prior to me getting this long term illness I have, I rarely called, yet did a number of times. Usually had something to do with some drunk; family, friend, foe, and occassionally a stranger.

2:30 in the morning and revving your engine is disturbing the peace at the very least. Also at least where I live all the local non-emergency numbers are staffed during normal business hours only. So the only option would be to call 911.
Once when my son was little he called when he was playing with the phone. They called back to check and said they thought everything was OK because they could hear us in the background. I hope we didn't yell at him. Second time for a kid who dumped his bike in the turning lane in heavy traffic.
Just three times, when this dude wouldn't give me my chicken nuggets. I was hungry!
I read about you on CNN.com
All the world will be your enemy, Prince with a thousand enemies, and whenever they catch you, they will kill you. But first they must catch you, digger, listener, runner, prince with the swift warning. Be cunning and full of tricks and your people shall never be destroyed.
In Australia we have 000.
But if you try calling that number from your mobile phone (cell) it won't work, so you gotta call 911!
And it works if you have no credit on your phone, for those with prepaid service like me!

Once, this kid was having seizures after hearing Nickleback playing at the local shopping center.

From a mobile, don't you have to call 112. If not, one day I am bound to find myself in all sorts of trouble....

Once some asshole down the street kept revving (sp?) up his stupid Fast and the Furious car at 2:30am. It woke my son up, and I wasn't too pleased. The second time, same people down the street were fighting and screaming at eachother late at night and I seriously feared for the womans life. Love my neighborhood.
Seriously?
Isn't 911 reserved for emergency calls only? Like people dieing!

And meanwhile, someone having a heart attack can't get through because of all the people calling because their neighbors are making noise.

I tried 911, didn't believe the person telling me to try it, but it worked, I quickly hung up.

Before this year? none. This year? 4 I think. I work with individuals with severe mental illness in the community and sometimes it's necessary to call for a "distressed person". First time was exhilarating, but now it's just a pain
i used to be a lifeguard/pool manager. i called 911 all the time. i once had to call four times in a five day period since some dumbasses threatened my life for telling them that their three year-old needed someone in the water with him.

Call the police department instead.. NOT 911.
