Astoria will be pretty much impossible to beat for a lot of people... like fowls said, it was the first Euro gig after a never-thought-it would end 6 year hiatus. In those 6 years a whole new generation of fans built up, so for many of us it was the first time seeing them live. I believe it was the first time any of the new Avocado songs had been played at a proper show, whereas Backspacer will be debuted live in Canada before SBE. To top it off, the God of Rock Robert Plant was even there :D SBE is going to be amazing, but I don't think any gig in my life is ever going to be as good as that night in April 06.

Well, I will have to stick to my original post in this thread in that I don't think the Astoria will ever be beaten for me (or for a lot of people I imagine). Last night at SBE was absolutely incredible, the venue was great, the crowd was great and the band were great. But the Astoria.... that night was off the scale.

Last night was the best gig I have ever seen. I have seen all the top bands. Was my second PJ show after Wembley, would have loved to have gone to Astoria though. Wembley was good, SBE blew it out of the water.
    :D Rock on!!!! :D
Seen Pearl Jam 4 times in London, once in Manchester, as well as an Eddie show at Hammersmith.

Yeah the Auz with the wig and VERY loud voice! Yeah loved it cannot see how anyone can complain, I will always want a different setlist as there are some many songs I want to hear. But I think people need to understand how lucky we were to see them in such an intimate venue and looking back the setlist rocked anyway!

thanks for being sensible Jim... of course people will think SheBu was better but thats because it was only last night... I've seen PJ a few times now (and will again soon) but nothing will beat the Astoria... it was just phenomenal... i've read 5 or 6 reviews of last nights shows and people have noted the band were jet-lagged, etc... and i just think Astoria will never be beaten for me... never. it was a life-changing event... it was that good.
oh scary... 40000 morbidly obese christians wearing fanny packs invading europe is probably the least scariest thing since I watched an edited version of The Care Bears movie in an extremely brightly lit cinema.
