  • Ok guys so it turns out that my friend wants to spend the night in Albany Night 2. I haven't been paying much attention to the hotel situations because, well, I didn't think I was going to be staying. So what is everyone doing for hotels and such? Any good deals. (again, sorry for not paying attention earlier)

Lets go Magic :D The hotel really close to venue, you are looking at around $130-$170 a night, venture further away and the prices drop. I am still undecided, will be booking something tomorrow! Think im going for best western sovereign (i think its called that lol)

That's good advice kid, where'd u get your info? oh yeah.

anyway, itwasntmysurface, it depends on what you're looking for (walking dist, drive ok, etc.) and how much you want to spend. if you PM me your AIM, we can chat and I can fill you in... easier than re-hashing it on the board. if now doesn't work coz of the game, whenever is good with me. I'll be up tonight till about midnight or so.

I would love to give you my AIM name, but I can't download it onto my computer as of yet. I have too much Pearl Jam and not enough space. I had to get rid of that and Powerpoint haha. I'm looking at hard drives now.

    got ya.

for a hotel, i'll start with the easiest suggestion... use the Holiday Inn Express. It's the cheapest "close" hotel at $122/night, but someone just got a pretty good deal on priceline, so you could roll the dice there too. it's a about a 10 minute walk to the venue and you have to pass the pre-party location to get there.

the post party has kinda fizzed out.. i need to post something on that to see who's down for it.

    LOL
  • I'm stayin at the Econo Lodge "Downtown" in Rensselaer, 6 min drive to the venue per Mapquest (can anyone confirm that?). Cheap ($70 per night) and they have a pool. I wanted to stay at the Hampton Inn, which is new & right by the venue, but by the time I called last wk the cheapest they had was $209 per night. Since I'm traveling for 4 shows I gotta save money somewhere. Anyone else staying where I am???

PS- Welcome, neighbor from Holden :D , And I saw that post, Bugs!

i just used hotwire, got Clarion Hotel Albany @ 3 Watervliet Avenue Extension in 12206
not entirely pleased with this setup, thought i was gonna get holiday inn express, but nothing i can do about it now, anyhow - it came to $183.29 total after taxes for 2 nights, which goes in line with the adage you get what you pay for
oh well, less than a month!

yes it is closest to venue (yeah, approx 1 or 2 min walk). it's also the 2nd most expensive at ~$200/night. Also, they may be sold out already. It's a popular business traveler hotel.

no prob... you're super close. and it's right inbetween the pre-party place and the venue (one street up, but basically on the way).
