***Atlanta 1 6/23 OFFICIAL ROLL CALL****

Who is going to see Eddie in Hot-Lanta night one ? I'll be driving down from Charlotte with my lady. I was hoping he'd play Charlotte, but I guess it's still "Atlanta light" and not quite big enough to hold down a southern leg of a smaller tour. Anyways, I can't wait. Who is going and where are you coming from ? Any ideas on anAtlanta pregame event ? I won the Gorge 3 cd pack last year at the Chicago 2 preparty. What an amazing show ! Can't wait for the follow up this year in Atlanta !

    I'll be there for night one! I can't wait!! My friend is looking to see if there are any bars within walking distance because there are some shopping centers around the theater. It will be fun times for sure!

    i am pretty sure there is.. went to a bar called jocks and jills (sports bar) not too long ago and i believe it is right next door..or close enough

    Going to both nights!! Not much for bars around there up in the burbs.... I'm game for whatever, can't wait! Wish he was playing the Fox since I live right by it --

    Jocks and Jills is lame and closed. The show is actually not in Atlanta but in Marietta in Cobb County...hence Cobb Energy Center. The area surrounding CEC is all strip malls and big malls. There are definitely bars around there but I'd steer clear of the malls. I'll try to put together some possibilities and post it as the show gets closer. By the way, for those who haven't seen a show at CEC, it's brand new and swank! Absolutely beautiful. State of the art sound system. Very very nice venue. I saw Swell Season there last year and it was amazing. They don't have "rock" shows there often. So I was surprised that the Ed tour will be there. Another bonus...huge parking lot and free parking. I don't know about the other venues, but for those joining me at CEC, you are in for a treat.

    And one other thing for my Charlotte friend...I've seen PJ twice in Charlotte. Once was the year they toured without Ticketbastards and they played on a local community college football field. 2nd best PJ show I've ever seen. Also saw them in Charlotte in 2003 at some Pavilion venue that I can't remember the name of...also a great show. So I think they've got some love for Charlotte.

    I'll be there, and the next night too if they add a second show. I'm looking forward to hearing from CrazyMary about some good spots to hit before the show. I went to see Ed at the NJ Performing Arts Center last summer - a great show and a beautiful venue. Can't wait to check out Cobb!

    I'll be going to night 1 if I get through on Ticketmaster tomorrow. I'm confirmed for night 2 through Ten Club if it happens. I live less then a mile from the venue. Not to much nearby other then the strip malls mentioned previously. Off the top of my head the only bar I can think of within a 5-10 minute drive is Lassiter's.

    Oh yes, I have seen PJ in Charlotte twice in 2000 and 2003 (didn't go to Memorial Stadium in 1996, wish i did, i was in HS at the time). Anyways, the 2003 show was amazing and Eddie seemed to enjoy being here. There are some venues, including Blumenthal Theatre or Ovens Auditorium (a little older) which could have worked in CLT. But hey, still happy to have Ed in the South.

    I scored 10c tix for BOTH nights, so I'm coming up from Orlando!! Traveled to Boston for the shows last Aug and it was incredible! Can't wait

    Im there... Ive done pre-parties before and they are awesome but as mentioned earlier, "there is a huge parking lot". Why not cookout and tailgate like hell before the show? Maybe even some cornhole? Just a thought...

    tailgating is the only way to pre-party in the south 8-)

    Have not decided how I'm gonna get there but if I go by car.....Tailgating is essential! :ugeek:

    bars within a few miles are marlowes, padraic's, meehan's, and lassiters. never been to lassiters but the other three are good places. lassiters is the closest of the four, meehan's probably the closest of the three others. none within walking distance that i can think of. there is a hooters you could go to and walk on cobb pkwy. everything around there is office or big retail like office max, sports authority etc.

    Sounds like tailgating would be the best option, especially since a vast majority of us have to pick up our tickets at will call at the venue anways. Might as well keep the drinking close to the ticket window ! Anyways, can fellow Jammers help me out with a cheap hotel suggestion near the venue ? that'd be awesome !
