Why are Pearl Jam fans so generous!?

Offers to send dvd's, cd's, boots via mail, offering to pay for someones ticket etc etc.
Just some of the great gestures I have witnessed whilst here.
Haven't seen a fan forum with members as generous as you guys!

    PS .. there will be many that will become very jealous of you! Believe it, it's happen to me many, MANY times! I feel very sorry for them. Hate & jealous leads to the dark side (black dark heart's). Why take that route?

    I think the idea of karma is what's the best motivation... it's such a neat concept that helping other people out can also help you in life, in my opinion. And if you believe in that, you'd be crazy not to lend a helping hand where you can!

    I have nothing but love for fellow fans. When I have been shut out with tickets or needed a bootleg to a show I attended (before they had official ones), there was always someone who came through with help. Thank you to all of those people and I am sure to those who will come to my aid in the future.
    Just remember to help out others if you can...if you have a spare ticket or someone is looking for something rare that you may not want/care/have extras of, offer it to a fellow board member first. You know they will appreciate it greatly and you will feel better for doing a good deed.

    Wow, I am such a virgin. Never had any experiences with any other forum but this one. It's been lovely though, thanks everyone :D

    yup. the folks here are awesome. i was browsing the site just last night & saw the offer for a free shirt! thanks pearljgirl2010!! 8-) people mail out setlists, cds, dvds, stickers...all kinds of cool stuff.

    Pearl Jam fans on here are usually very considerate and nice. Too bad I can't find any Pearl Jam fans not on this forum. :D

    The people I've met here are the BEST. I know they're got my back 100%. My friends in the "real world" are convinced I'm going to wind up dead in a gutter every time I go on a Pearl Jam "adventure" with "complete strangers". Haha I've only ever had one bad experience with a PJ fan - I think they were an anomaly.. because everyone else rocks.

    It's amazing that all we really have in common is our love for this band, and it's brought so many diverse people together.. I mean - if a bunch of "strangers" told me that I should come hang out with them across the country because "we're all Packer fans!"... never in a million years. But with you guys, there's something different. We've all got each other's back.

    Yeah it's true i'd rather hang out with friends i've made thru this band than friends i grew up with ,i just don't connect with them anymore ,so i look forward to sharing some more good karma/tickets with a few of you :D ..

    Because we would want to be treated the same way. My favorite PJ story is the group of fans who bought airline tickets for Dan from Brazil. Bought him concert tickets to see PJ. Gave him a place to stay even, because he would post every single day about PJ please come to Brazil. So I thought that was Awesome!!
    Let's see those 2013 dates in the southern states.

    Couldn't agree more w/ this thread. From a guy who is a long timer back to the mid-90's, and a more recent addition to the boards, I can say I've been amazed at how cool this community is. Thanks to all of you for making my experience with this band that much better!

    I've been hooked up a couple times by a great fan on the board, and met some awesome people at the Montreal pre party last year!! I was scared, because I was the youngest there, but everyone treated me on the same level, it was amazing!

    i give my share to the community and i get back as well haha. i've gotten free posters and a lot of other stuff from people here (most recently got two christmas singles that are not available except on ebay for ridiculous prices from a guy here and all he wanted was shipping money :))
