spending time with the entire family, having an extra nice meal.

    hiding and hunting Easter eggs.

spirited discussions about sports, politics and whatever else.
    something i always enjoy.

and consuming as many of those damned Reese's eggs as humanly possible.

    hope everyone enjoys the day.
    Nice shirt.

What clown decided ham was an Easter tradition, Daffy Duck?
So this story from yesterday deserves to be shared in this thread:

We're at my sister-in law's house yesterday for Easter dinner. We've sat down (like 15 of us) to have salad and begin the meal, whne from the stove comes a loud pop followed by the sound of shattering glass followed by a 2nd loud pop and more shattering glass.
Turns out my sister-in law baked the evil Easter ham in a Pyrex baking dish. She took Hammy out of the oven and proceeded to put some rolls in the oven to bake. So she sets Hammy down atop the stove and turns the burner on under him to low to keep him all warm and toasty while the rolls and veggies are prepared. Bad move. Pyrex no likey direct applied heat. Blew this baking dish into thousands of little pieces of glass, thankfully nobody was near the stove at the time. But evil Hammy was covered in shards of glass.

There was some speculation that knowing my utter dislike for ham, I pulled a Carrie-esque telekinetic assanitaion attempt on Hammy, but since some chicken drumsticks were prepared for those of us in the no ham club, this theory was debunked. Now of course others were happy that the chicken was available to eat and virtually glass free.
Apparently I never knew my in laws were the Griswolds.

    Happy Easter.
    This weekend we rock Portland

I went out with my wife 10 yrs before popping the question. (10 years to the day we met), then managed to put off the wedding for another 18 months (there's a lot of planning involved, don't want to rush into anything), so I got 11.5 yrs in before tying the knot.

yes, but were you young then...or speedy's age? ;)

hubby and i dated, on and off, for 5 years right up until our wedding day. we could've easily dated/been engaged for 10 as well. we were married pretty young. i think long-term dating/engagements are a lot more commonplace - and sensible really - when you are young. once you're in your late 30s-early 40s - there's just no excuse. ;)

    j/k speedy!
