While the EV solo shows are awesome, the timing just seems a little strange. I just hope this won't be taking anything away from the new album, which I doubt it will.

    That's what i've been thinking. :|

Why the fuck are people complaining so much? Don't go. Pearl Jam will tour. Go to that. DO WHATEVER YOU WANT. That's what they do. I'm freaking stoked!!!! Now I have a reason to go to Hawaii. And I get to do my favorite thing. IM TOTALLY PUMPED.

Hey all you whiney sacks... keep saving those dollars and keep my lottery chances good.

This forum is becoming a poisonous place. I hope the band doesn't read how bitchy their fans are. Since the begining of the begining they have done nothing but serve us as best they can. Try on being greatful for what you get and not pissed about what you think you have been denied.

A tour is coming. Have some patience. Be like Daniel Son. Wax on Wax off. Just shut up and let the master lead you to victory.

Why would he stop doing "No War"?

The wars aren't over, and they aren't going to be for a long time.
A child's rhyme stuck in my head...
It said "Life is nothing but a dream."
I've spent so many years in question
To find I'd known this all along.

    Because it's a terrible song

    3 reasons

    1. He's ed ved and can do whatever he wants

    2. Maybe he's doing this cause he has new solo material

    3. Someones gotta pay for the diapers and baby stuff
Ron: I just don't feel like going out tonight
    Sammi: Wanna just break up?

fyi-comments like yours contribute to the poison. The OP wasn't bitching... just asking an innocent question.

I think the reason is pretty simple. Ed wants to do a laid back solo tour. It would be so hard to do that with all the other racket goin on

Was the first Ed tour really to support Into the Wild? Didn't really seem to, imo.

this question has interested me for quite some time...

why does Ed need to go on a solo tour?...couldn't Pearl Jam play a few Ed solo songs at Pearl Jam concerts?

they already do No War, and ed often plays Betterman and other Pearl Jam songs at his solo shows and appearances.

so why not play EV songs at PJ concerts? instead of having Ed do solo tours?

    C'mon you're kidding right? Totally different vibe...plus I like having both! :D

  • I'm not complaining. Ed can tour whenever he friggin' feels like and I'll be trying to attend at least one show. If it means one less PJ show for me to hit in the fall, so be it.

Because the Ed solo shows are better than any full band show I've seen since about 2003 ...

    Yeah, I said it. ;)

I thought somebody posted the other day that he was working on new material for another Penn movie soundtrack. I figured that was likely what was driving the new round of solo shows. Seemed to make sense. Either way, could be the exact same show he played last summer and I would put down the sheckles to see him again!

i'm not going to this solo tour, nor did i go on the others

That explains why you would ask such a question. Had you been to the shows, you would know why he does them - and why so many of us are so thankful he does!

    This.

And that's saying a lot because the shows I saw in '05 and '06 were amazing. Ed's shows however, are something else entirely. He's ridiculously talented and entertaining all by himself.

Ed solo shows and Pearl Jam show are obviously different. That is the way it should be. Ed does his pre-set at times and may come out at an oncoure ( is that right??) and do a couple of songs. Ed just like everyone else has a right to do a solo thing without the pressures of living up to PJ standards.
