If this speculation is correct, just remember to bundle up. Sure September is one month earlier than the show in 2000, but from what I remember the first review here (http://www.amazon.com/10-00-East-Troy-Wisconsin/dp/B00005APZQ) is pretty accurate. As soon as the sun started going down the temp absolutely bottomed out. There were some coooooold people in just t-shirts that night.
It could be 20, it could be 80, who knows in this fucked up midwest weather. I mean opening day was snowed out!
Honestly though, it's usually pretty warm in September, in fact it has been pretty warm almost every October since that show.

Well with the Outside Lands announcement today I think this gives us a little more hope. It definately looks like they will be touring for the entire month of September!!!

Unless they're touring for the entire month of August - anyone think that could happen as well?

How about August through October :?:
...got a mind full of questions and a teacher in my soul...
Well, the fact that they're in San Fran in late August and in Austin 5 weeks later gives me hope that this will happen... Start in San Diego, travel up the coast, across the west and midwest and down to Texas to finish. Perhaps the east gets left out this time around?
Not to be greedy (OK, to be greedy) since it looks good for this happening, why not just play two nights?! I mean they are already all the way here, and they certainly won't have trouble selling tix like crazy! In fact I'll buy 8 right now!!!

Good call! MAke the East coasters do some traveling for once. They can all come to Alpine and see what a real venue looks like! HA!

East coast people have it so dam easy. They can travel a couple or few hrs and see shows all over the east coast. Make Alpine a Midwest 10c show only. hehe Oh I'm sorry am I sounding like a east coast person? LOL
I think it's great that they are playing SF and a few other places yet to be announced. For me it's Alpine or nothing. My money tree isn't in bloom this year. lol
I will go see PJ in the dead of winter at Alpine if thats what it takes.
Although I really think that August/September would be ideal.
I can't wait for more dates to be announced so I can start planning this whole she-bang!
PJ: St. Paul 6.16.2003, St. Paul 6.26.2006, St. Paul 6.27.2006, Hartford 6.27.2008, Mansfield 6.28.2008, Mansfield 6.30.2008, Beacon Theater 7.1.2008, Toronto 8.21.2009, Chicago 8.23.2009, Chicago 8.24.2009, Philly 10.30.2009, Philly 10.31.2009, Columbus 5.6.2010, Noblesville 5.7.2010
EV: Los Angeles 4.12.2008, Los Angeles 4.13.2008, Nashville 6.17.2009, Nashville 6.18.2009, Memphis 6.20.2009
I'm also getting anxious for an announcement with all the rumors flying around. Since PJ was opening for Petty the last time through our area, it's been since 2003 since we got a full show. It's about time we fill up Alpine w/ about 40,000 and get a 30 song set!

I'd rather go to Alpine Valley and Chtown shows if they turn out to be real than ACL. I know I can find a sofa or two around Chicago and Wisconsin for that matter
I have no patience for bad music and stupid people...

I think tomorrow I'll go for a drive and head to East Troy and drive down the road into Alpine Valley. Take a look around again and hope this is the year.
not cool...Alpine is in my neck of the woods but I have to leave for school in late august. Looks like i'm going to be dropping a few hundred on plane tickets...
