I was just thinking about today being the anniversary of this show. Already a HUGE fan before, but that show took it to a whole new level. It was, dare I say, religious. I feel like the luckiest fucker in the world to have scored tickets to this show. What a way to pop your Pearl Jam cherry!
If you haven't heard this bootleg, you owe it to yourself to find it -- TODAY! It's such a great audio snapshot of the band at the height of their popularity and completely on top of their game -- so much energy and intensity. The Who had Live at Leeds and Pearl Jam have Atlanta '94.
Sweet, what a first show!!! I thought I was lucky, my second Pearl jam show was Madison Square Garden 1998 (night 2).

I have this concert in a 3 cd box set titled "Dissident" that was released in the 90's. I was in high school when it came out and I begged my parents to buy it for me. It was the first live concert I ever owned of Pearl Jam.
Does anyone have a complete copy of the Solider Field 1995 show??
I have Soldier Field on CD...the Red Robin pressing, think it was a giveaway by local radio or just fans?
90% of the Atlanta show is on the Dissident CDs but not the new songs (at the time).
That is crazy that it's 15 years...I totally remember listening to the broadcast on the radio, was stuck at work through most of it (at a movie theater, with one of my friends who was also a big fan). Think I must have taped it at home. Then got a copy of the boot CD (full show) on a tape. I should dig it out. I remember that was the first time I heard Betterman, Whipping, and something else new... Awesome show. Say what you want about Dave A. but he was an amazing drummer with a really unique style (Matt is too of course...Jack...meh). LIstening to Drop in the Park and some of these older things lately has reminded me of that. They really did have a great groove with him (musically at least).
"When you get home, look in your history books and find out why tomorrow is an important day" or something like that. I also remember Ed giving a description of what everyone on stage looks like for the radio audience. Oh, and don't they do a little snippet of Detroit Rock City?

I remember going to a record store and listening to Betterman over and over..I was 17 and didn't have the $60 for the boot..I tried to get a friend to split the discs..to no avail...eventually I bought the boot a year later from my college aid money lol..still love the fast intro and verse Betterman.."This is a new song..but it was written a long time ago..it's dedicated to the bastard that married my momma.."
I hear that...the way I got a good copy of it (on tape) was I had a friend who worked at a local book store that also sold music. They let employees check out music and take it home (one of those places that used to let you open a CD and listen to it in the store before buying) so I had him "check out" Atlanta, and I copied it onto tape (CD burners were a luxury item for the rich back in 1994, ha ha). Haven't played those tapes in at least 5 or 6 years...maybe in '04 on the ten year anniversary.

My first show as well. I was a jersey boy in college in GA. IMy buddy and I tried to get tickets to this show but had no luck. You think tickets are tough now you have NO IDEA how tough they were for his show.
I had given up on any hope of going until the night before when my buddy Darrell said "Hey jerz my buddy from HS works for the Braves and Mark Lemke scored us tickets for the show tomorrow" We drove to Atlanta the next morning and the rest is history. To this day it remains my most memorable show.

1. I remember it was Easter Sunday and being in a car with my family on the way home when the show started, every rock station was broadcasting;
2. If you type "April 3, 1994" into Google the first thing that comes up is this show; 'Nuff said;
3. The version of Rats is very underrated in this show. Among other things, Ed goes into Satan's Bed in the outro (before it was played), just awesome, "I'd stop and talk but I'm already, al---rea--dy, already in love, love, love, love, love...."
