I know. I'm just saying, everyone seems to be considering this question from all the wrong angles. It's not just you. And I still don't get what people have against Russell Crowe.

If such a movie should ever be made, I think Sean Penn should get the nod to play Ed. From this picture:

if he grows his hair a bit, he can be made to look close enough. Plus, he's an awesome actor and I guess Ed would highly approve of it, given their common history. Otherwise, Jeff Bridges would be fine by me.

Ditto. Crowe is one of the greatest actors around. That's what matters most. Screw the rest.

Penn is 48 years old as compared to Ed's 44... I don't think the age difference is huge enough to make him ineligible, they use make up in movies after all...
