    This is nothing new..

People are slamming the new album and i'm one of them. This then completely blinds them which results in them not going to his shows.I love Chris' work so i'll still buy his albums and go to his shows to support him as i know he will be fucking amazing. The setlists are fantastic and even better, his voice is amazing.

Black hole is an interesting ender. Now would be an interesting time to hear BeyonD The Wheel or Birth Ritual.

Hell yea it was. A 34 song setlist, thats more than PJ usually plays. It was awesome, I will post some vids on youtube later, maybe of 'Gun' or 'the Cover's medley.'

    Hmm Interesting.
I like the old stuff he is playing.
I had written him off based on the horrible new album and the very mediocre audioslave stuff (my opinion) at least he knows his old stuff is good and he should play it. I give him credit it looks like he gave the people who went to see him their money's worth. (i have not given credit to cornell since that shit about him cancelling a concert to go play for his designer jean buddies a couple years ago so that is a big deal)

Shadow On The Sun would've been cool too, I also saw Audioslave when they were fresh. Their first album is easily their most solid. I'd have to say they were one of the best shows I've ever seen...

Last Remaining Light is a song he should play more nowadays too.

yeah, that first Audioslave tour was incredible, and cornells voice was in amazing shape. one of the best concerts i ever saw. right upfront too, was brilliant. play most whole album, throwing in White Riot & Seven Nation Army etc....it was quality. funnily enough when i saw them play on the 2nd tour, once they threw in RATM & SG songs it didnt feel like an Audioslave show....i was psyched to hear them, but still, wasnt the same urgency about the show as first time round.

people always put the other 2 albums ahead of the debut, but i love that debut album. spur of the moment stuff...riff heavy, screams, and tempo changes. bellissimo.

Hehehe...I know :P . As cheesy as it sounds, if my girlfriend and I had a song, it would either be that song or Candlebox's "Far Behind" which is kind of the reason we began talking...so I guess Candlebox. Either way, Sunshower is a gorgeous song and they perfected it live. It was GREAT!

Wow, I'm glad someone can share that amazing experience with me. Cornell rocked my face off that night. The two covers you mentioned were cool as hell. The stage setup was one of the coolest I have seen. The back of the stage was all gigantic mirrors. Brad and his kit had their back to the crowd lookign directly into the mirrors. It was Lollapalooza 2003, and it rained like fucking no other (at least for a Utah desert rain). They almost cancelled the show, but people were getting pissed and refusing to go to their cars until the rain stopped...so Audioslave saved the day and came out and just played their asses off. Chris's voice was unbelievable. I was 13 and it was my first time even knowing who Chris was...I basically met him taht night  I was so amazed that after I picked my jaw off the ground I went out and bought the album, and Soundgarden's stuff...

As for the first album, I couldnt' agree more. It's rudely overlooked. When it came out it was a breath of fresh air for rock music, and it was desperately needed. I still listen to that album and get chills.

I've got quite a lot of DVDs from that mirror tour and i think the Lolla show. From my memory. Cornell's voice was horrific at the start of audioslave.

first saw them at Lolla 03, and they played this. It was one of the greatest things i've seen in terms of concerts.....just nuts. Cornell in a beater, stomping around the mic stand just screaming, while the band is in that hard jam part at the end....fuckin awesome.

dunno about lolla, but Dublin was insane. were no mirrors at the this show probably cos the venue (the point) had small enough stage....shame, sounds like a cool idea. they had the flame logo thingy hanging behind Brad.

the Dublin show was euro tour closer in June 03....his voice was incredible at that show. in similar shape, if not better than, the letterman on-street audioslave performance. any footage ive seen of shows since he's not matched what he had that night.

but then when i saw them in 2005 he sounded kinda like he did on the cuba dvd - weak, missing notes, and out of breath. but that first performance was special.

right back at ya dcfaithful , i hadnt met anyone on here who'd been to a show on that tour.

IMO, Cornell is kind of hit or miss live as far as his Audioslave and onward days go...luckily both times I've seen him he's knocked it out of the park.

I have one exception though. I aboslutely love the recorded version of Show Me How To Live...but I just don't think he can cut it live...

Jordy, I agree...the Cuba DVD he just was off. That is a perfect example of SMHTL...it's just painful to listen to..

I heard some a few people saying he had some illness during that show.

When i say he had a bad voice i just mean he couldn't sustain notes i.e just sounded like a horrible scream/screetch for the most parts.

I'm seeing him in D.C. tomorrow night, and had no idea what to expect. If we get a setlist like this, I'm going to be a very happy camper!

So how many of those were from his hip hop album? Overall I'd say the setlist is pretty old school.

Wow nice I saw him a few years ago in seattle. Pretty much same setlist. I thought this tour he was playing mostly his new stuff.
  • His set at Download had better be similar to this...
Been to this many PJ shows: Reading 2006 London 2007 Manchester & London 2009 Dublin, Belfast, London, Nijmegen & Berlin 2010 Manchester 1 & Manchester 2 2012...

... and I still think Drive-By Truckers are better.
