I had no problem with the price of the actual ticket, it was the fees that got me. I paid $24 in fees for that ticket.
But it was a great show and a great night, wouldn't take it back for anything.Don't come closer or I'll have to go0 -
Thank you for posting. Very entertaining. Ed definitely sounds both reflective and relaxed."Buy the ticket, take the ride"

PJSEMPRE wrote:01/24/98 Kerrang! "I nearly became a plumber!"
...I inform Vedder that a number of people suggested that if he were so unhappy about being in a band, he should go off and become a plumber. Gossard's jaw instantly drops and he breaks into a loud laughing fit. Eddie shakes his head at his colleague and smiles.
"It's something I definitely thought about," Vedder insists. "I mean, I definitely started to examine that kind of possibility. But luckily - for me and for people with burst water pipes or blocked toilets everywhere - there were some options we could explore to maybe have our peace of mind and still make music."
Vedder glances at Gossard, who is now wiping tears away from his eyes. "So, do you need to go to school to be a plumber?" he asks him.
"I think so," Gossard replies. "But I'm sure there's ad-lib plumbers. You could start a new breed of plumbers - you know, the Eddie Vedder School Of Plumbing
, that refuses to follow the conventional rules of the system. But just remember that if you're going to do it to always show your butt-crack
- that's the golden rule you can't ignore."

He needs a new line.
Of course you're a rock star, you make millions and you have a comfortable life
Just accept it, and you're not a plummer of rock stars

who owns his own "piece of land" to go surf at in private.................
I get what he's trying to say & I love him...but there comes a time when you are what you are
It takes A LOT of effort to achieve what he has achieved...it does not just happen

You know, I tried to respond to this thread earlier today. Have been thinking about the whole "plumber" comment. But I wanted to gather my thoughts first. I completely agree with what you said above. But at the same time, like for example, I see him wearing the exact same pair of pants or the exact same shirt that he wore like 15-16 years ago and that's just endearing to me. And when you talk to him, he does give you that vibe. That same vibe you quoted above (I shit, I stink...) Like he's just this regular guy. Actually, the entire band is that way. And that's one of the main reasons why we love them so much. Well, at least it is for me
And that also made me think about Dave A. Any hardcore fan knows by now that, while we may never know what really went on amongst them when he got kicked out of the band, his apparent desire to live the rockstar life (being under the limelight, giving interviews, endorsing stuff, making videos, mtv...etc.) probably had a lot to do with why. If he was able to keep that desire under wraps little longer, I think he would have still been here. Because nowadays, that attitude has mellowed out a little bit. This is not necessarily bad. Like Vedder says in the interview, they are just showing their bad-selves in a different way
nowadays. I have no patience for bad music and stupid people...
