Hartford venue

My husband and I are planning on hitting a couple of the shows in June. I know nothing about the venues up there. We will be trying for one of the MSG shows for sure but I can't decide if we should try for both of the MSG shows or one MSG and the Hartford show. What is the venue like at Hartford?? My TC number isn't great but not too bad. I'm thinking we will probably get a lot better seats at Hartford.

What would you do??

lots of people will trash the hartford venue for some reason .. don't know why. i like it alot. pretty much everywhere besides the way back or lawn are good seats.

Thanks! Have you been to a PJ show there? How far back do you think the TC tickets will go?

saw pj there in 06. excellent. most people loved the show but hated the venue. honestly, i can't see why. there was a thread about the venue a few days ago .. maybe you can search it. i forgot what people were saying, but people either love it or hate it. 10c tickets go back pretty far. if you check out that seating chart in 3d on livenation, i was in the front-middle of the first big 500 section. everyone around me was 10c. however, i had connections for those seats, i didn't use my 10c. my number is 405xxx, so this year i will find out how those do me ... hoping ok. but i think you're good! what's your number?

My number is 218xxx. Not too bad but not just great. I usually can't complain about my TC seats at the shows I've been to. Went to both LA shows in 05 and was on the side but close to the floor. Perfect view for someone short like me :) . I would rather be on the side and a little elevated then way in the back on a flat floor. That's just me though...

Looked at the website and you're right. None of the seats look bad! I think I would be happy with any of them except the lawn.

We may go for both MSG shows and the Hartford show. It will all depend on how much the tickets are.

wow, my number really is shit! since you've actually used 10c tix before, how do you think mine will be? if you were on a front wing or side, idk if you can kind of figure out where i'd be. i really hope they're good. i'm looking to go to msg night 2, hartford, and mansfield. i have an uncle who claims he has really good connections for msg, but it will be 10c for hartford and mansfield. and with your number you will probobly end up on the end up at the end of a wing or front seats of the next section. little closer than i was.

2006 I think I was row 13 w/ number 172XX. With the change in seating who knows where I will be, maybe a few rows up or back. You will be closer than MSG for sure, but MSG shows will be better I think.
Thank you fellow 10 clubber for saving my ass....again!!!

  • Can someone tell me how far the venue is from the closest major airport? Thanks.

I got completely awful 10c seats but I don't think the venue would be that bad for people who get better seats. I was the very end on the side. It was basically in line with the stage and VERY far back.

    not good, 337xxx.
even if your number is as bad as mine, your seats likely won't be the very last ones in the row. I just got unlucky

So, is Hartford an amphitheatre? I didn't realize this, I thought it was an arena.
And my 10c number is 400+. I'm thinking that bothering w/ preorder may be a waste of my time, as I'd be in the last row.

It's an outdoor ampitheatre. My only complaint was that it was a long way to get to the bathroom (in the main concourse) from the center of the seating area. Security didn't take too kindly to me 'jogging' back to my seat after a pee-break.

I saw U2 at Hartford a few years back, great place to see a show.
Just get a ticket in the door. You'll be able to move.

That would have been at the Hartfod Civic Center (or whatever they call it now), not the Dodge Music Center(Meadows).

U2 has never played amphitheaters due to their staging, always arenas or stadia.

I don't think 10c got any lawn seats.

I got tix from ticketmaster for Camden night 2 2006 and they were pretty good. They went up like two weeks before the show. Before that it was lawn only.

If you do get "stuck" in the lawn GA, get near the fence and cop a squat. You will be able to see and you will still have a blast! A great place to people watch.

  • I hate Hartford but the show was one of the best I saw that year! It was a cold night and PJ did I'M OPEN Which I think it was only the second time they ever played that song live. I'll be going again for sure since I'm only two hours away but my # is 369xxx and I was 25 rows back for that show. Be sure to attend this show as they always seem to play gems there. Can't fucking wait to smoke, drink, grill, and get wasted with good friends and jamily! See you there!

I think Hartford and Camden comes to mind. Spacious sloped lawn and amphitheatre seating. I loved Hartford. The fans I met were awesome and the show included I'm Open. It was a cool, drizzly evening in '06, but PJ kicked ass. . It would've stood out for me even more, but it had the misfortune of following Albany and being the 4th show of a six show in 9 day run.

Thanks everyone! You've made up my mind for me. I will definitely try to get 10C tickets to Hartford. It sounds like my kind of venue. I love amphitheaters! I saw them in Kansas City in '03. It was a last minute show and got tickets thru ticketmaster. Sat on the lawn during a horrible thunderstorm, soaking wet head to toe. It was one of the best shows! They played a short set but played great!

I'm one of those fans who thinks they do no wrong and never play a bad show. I don't really care where they play, I'm just happy to see them play!

i'm definitely with you there!! and when they play little surprises it just makes you love it all the more. seeing i'm open being played for the first time ever was amazing.. also before the show, a friend and i each picked a song we'd like to hear the most, no matter how obscure.. i picked sleight of hand and my friend picked i got shit. both were played! what are the chances!? it was awesome...

as long as i have decent seats and am seeing pj i'm happy!! i'm praying 405xxx ends up ok!

The Hartford show was amazing last time, I loved it. The Rearviewmirror was off the hook, and Eddie brought back "we belong together" there, that was the highlight of the show for me. It was also the first time I had seen Yellow Ledbetter live and that was my 6th show. I've only heard the song twice out of nine shows, crazy eh? If you are underneath the cover, there is not a bad seat in the house, but of course lawn is lawn. My number is 349XXX and I had center (600?) and like 7 rows up in it. It was a really good view.
    32 shows and counting...

Went to Hartford in '06. It was my first time there. It was very similar to the (former)Tweeter in Camden, if you've ever been there. I love (what used to be called the Tweeter in Camden, so this place was nice.

A friend, he called, I didn't mention a thing. The last thing he said was, "Be sound". Sound. I contemplated an awful thing, I hate to admit. I just thought those would be such appropriate last words. But I'm still here.

With those kind of odds, you should be playing PowerBall...its about the same to hit that as it is to only see YL 2 times out of 9 shows, for most folks it averages out to 8 out of 9. :D

I've heard many people say that they hate the Hartford venue. Why is this? And I heard that there was some Police incident at a PJ show in the past, I'm wondering what that was about.
Oh, and at the 25th row, were you able to have a view at all? I'm guessing that since it's an amphitheatre, that all the seats are on a rise and that you're not on the "floor" staring at the head of the guy in front of you.
