That all depends... like, were you trying to sell him a Dish Network set-up or a re-financed sub-prime mortgage... or did he call you up trying to order a pizza?
The pizza thing counts as a 'Yes'.

hahahaha. I wasn't trying to sell him anything. He called me at my house.

It was summer of 06. I had just gotten out of the hospital a little bit ago from complications due to my Crohn's Disese. So one day my friends and I were just hanging out, and my brother makes me come home right away cause he said Eddie is gonna call soon. At first I didnt believe him, but I went home anyway. So like 20 minutes later, the phone rings, its a wierd number, and I answer it. Sure enough it was Ed. :D:D
We talked for like 20 minutes. About allot of stuff. Me, him, stuff he experienced, etc. I dont remember all of it, but it was cool
I was so pumped. He called back a week later and talked again.
I called him a couple times but was only able to get his voicemail. :(

I met Jeff in 1999 when he played with Three Fish on South St. in Philly. I was 8 months pregnant and determined to meet him. I waited outside of the venue (I think it was The Pontiac then) and was standing near this bus that was in front of the place. All of a sudden Jeff walked out of the bus and started walking down South St. so I followed him! He went into Starbucks. I waited outside (thank God I had a friend with me who was calm and telling me exactly what to do!) and when he came out with his iced coffee I went up to him and said "Hi Jeff, can I get a picture with you?" and I did and he signed my Three Fish CD. He was really nice and friendly. I probably startled him though because my stomach was HUGE and the way I got him as soon as he came out of Starbucks . . . hehe! Three Fish was really good too. I stood right in the front and got lots of good pictures. . . everyone was nice too since I was SO pregnant and they made sure I had enough space! I feel really lucky to have met him!

I met Jeff w/ the hubby after a show in a town nearby a couple years ago. We were sitting in the front of a deli eating lunch and in Jeff walks and we look at each other, like bewildered. Hubby approaches him and next thing I know they're both behind me tapping me on the shoulder. He's super nice, friendly and down to earth, and actually talked to us and our daughter for a good 10 minutes.
Last summer I met Eddie! After one of his Montreal solo shows, me and a girlfriend had nothing better to do so we started hanging out with the small crowd at his bus in the back of the venue. After about an hour, we decided to go look for a pub and started walking away. Ed walks out a different door of the venue with some security in which we had just passed by. A few people from nowhere gathered quietly waiting for autographs, so we ran over and got in front of him. He took my playbill and started to sign it, when I told him how thankful I was for the music and inspiration when he stopped writing, looked up at me and told me "you're welcome". I don't know if I startled him or whatnot, but he gave me a double take before looking back down to finish signing. When he was done, he looked at me, gave me back my playbill and told me I was beautiful!! Yeah, the best moment of my life. :D

About a month ago, I was telling our story of meeting Eddie Vedder to a woman who writes for our local newspaper. She said it was an awesome story, and it would be great for the paper. However, after checking everday, and not seeing it for over a month, I figured it was going to happen. Then last night, I get a phone call from my 88 year-old grandmother, who is all excited because she just finished reading the article. Of course, my daughter and I had to rush out and get a copy! Unfortunately the pictures of Eddie & my daughter and Eddie & I didn't make it to the online story, BUT they WERE in the newspaper!! I originally posted our story here, which has since racked up over 7,000 views (I still can't believe it). Here is the link to my original post:

Yeah, I do. :D:D But i haven't called since Lolla. I'm pretty sure it's changed by now, but I don't want to call and find out that the number "was" Ed's number. And not "is" Ed's number.

I don't get it. Don't you have to be IN Pearl Jam to be a writer for Pearl Jam?
  • It was "palooza" 92 the second time that year the tour came through Atlanta. Before "Lush" the opening act came on Ed was up in the lawn decked out like a security guard "hair tucked in his hat" just sitting enjoying the breeze. We were a few spots down recognized him and went over sat and chatted for about 10 min. He was laid back, soft spoken, and in my opinion a bad -ass. What I saw him do the time before was UNREAL! I will later be sharing this in a post probably after the Ten re-release. Sitting around rock-star-struck I couldn't even muster up many words (if any) but hey this dude "IS THE REAL DEAL" trust me..... My buddy on the other hand had no problem asking him to sign this or that or etc. Sneak Preview: The time I saw Ed up close before was palooza 92's first time to Atl during Porch....Ed runs from the stage up along the wall "outside amphitheatre" to the back of the lawn and climbs up it. This dude's pupils were the size of HALF DOLLARS, I like to believe he was on mushrooms....anyway he leans back from the top of the wall onto the crowd and surf's all the way to the seats. Makes his way back to the stage and then PJ finishes Porch and covers Baba O Riley and RITFW!!! Un-F***ing-Believable! No band rocks like this band, and if you dis-agree...."GET OUT OF MY F***ING FACE...DROP THE LEASH!"

Met ed in 96 in Dublin, gave him my jacket, he let me pick a song to play the next night..picked State.they played it..(security guy kept tryin to rush him off but he kept talking to us..when he was leaving after the guy one last time saying 'ed we gotta go' he goes 'i just wanna get this shot with them' i hadnt even asked him for a photo...the security guy, after ed said bye, said 'i been working with ed for 3 years and you guys are the first people ive seen him get in a photo with that whole time') best day ever part one...

met him 8 years later on the Riot Act tour backstage in irvine, mentioned i'd met him before, he got all happy when i told him when/where(we were drunk, he was too) he was like 'youre the jacket guy!' brought me into his dressing room & he still had my jacket..best bit..him going 'I wonder about you a lot! are you still with us?' i explained i'm terrified of flying but i'm happily doing 14 flights around the US to see Pj.my two friends getting to meet him that night was even better though..their faces the whole time..completely priceless...best day ever the sequel...he's a complete gent..
met the rest of the guys too at different times and places..they're all lovely..Stone's a bit stiff but they're all great. just be cool when you see them.

Haven't read this whole thread but we've met Mike several times at different charity events. He is always very gracious and nice. :)

Met Mike at a few Tractor Tavern shows, and met Ed, Mike and Jeff at another Tractor show in Seattle. I live a few blocks from Matt....but that doesn't count cuz I've never met him!! : )
If I knew where it was, I would take you there....there's much more than this.

...did you just offer him your jacket? Had he mentioned he was cold?

met the rest of the guys too at different times and places..they're all lovely..Stone's a bit stiff but they're all great. just be cool when you see them.

I met Stone once after a Brad show. I just said that I liked the show and didn't bring up anything about his other band, nice guy.

Yup - I've met Ed, but this dude's meeting experience was SO much better!

...did you just offer him your jacket? Had he mentioned he was cold?

Nah i just had this corduroy jacket, like the ones he used to wear and i always wanted to give it to him.
Just got lucky on the day.
