Great outlook!
Hey, and on the bright side...enjoy the position that has minimal responsibility right now until you move on to something else with more responsibility and you find out people work for you that can't even follow a plan-o-gram.0 -
It's amazing to me how poorly some people do easy jobs though. I was at a store buying something yesterday and the check-out girl was reading a newspaper. A man came up to her to ask her where to find something and she didn't even take her nose out of the paper to answer she just grunted and pointed. It was so dis-connected! Then when she checked me out she actually had to put the paper down and she still had the hardest time looking in my face or anything!!
I left the store thinking...she probably thinks the job is beneath her (she's so busy projecting boredom!) but she was DOING IT BADLY!! People who know how to be good check-out people actually talk and smile and interact with live people.
It made me think even the easiest jobs DON'T just do themselves.&&&&&&&&&&&&&&0 -
I hate planograms. I m a lead sales assoc.at a major sporting goods chain and it's absolutely ridiculous how much shit we have to change on a monthly basis. It's even worse when your under staffed and the people who work for you have to get a kick in the ass every 5 min. we have these fixtures called knee walls and it's a wall about 4ft x25ft and I had to change it 3 times in one week b/c the guys in our corp office couldn't make up their freakin minds.I thought I was going to loose it. However though Im thankful I have a job right now.
Here's one for you they consider anything over 35 hrs full time but don't pay over time (time1/2 ) unless you work over 40. WTF!!!! :x0 -

sorry to read that!
call me crazy, but i've always LOVED working retail. my very first job was retail....i put myself through grad school working retail....i worked retail part-time the entirety of my teaching career.....and i worked retail for 1.5 when i left teaching as a 'for now' job until i found a new direction. i also carefully chose what companies/stores i worked for, their locations, their hours, etc.....and have always loved every store i have worked for. if the $$$ and hours were better, i'd probably have made a career of it.
bottomline....good luck!Stay with me...
Let's just breathe...
I am myself like you somehow0 -

Once upon a time I thought that I was through with retail....but here I am!!!!
Retail certainly has its moments....good, bad and ugly momentsAll the world will be your enemy, Prince with a thousand enemies, and whenever they catch you, they will kill you. But first they must catch you, digger, listener, runner, prince with the swift warning. Be cunning and full of tricks and your people shall never be destroyed.0 -
Karma got me good :(
After all my bitching about it taking forever for so many people to do a reset according to a plan-o-gram, and saying I could do it faster... I get stuck with the reset from hell!! False eye lashes!!
Now you'd think it would be easy at first thought but think of how small the packaging is and the fact that I did 8 ft of them (2 full sections)! I think our store now displays EVERY false eye lash in the entire USA!!
Next time I'll think before I bitch :P"I'm not present, I'm a drug that makes you dream"0 -
