  • Radio - suckers never play me
On the mix - just O.K. me
Now known and grown when they're clocking my zone it's known
Snakin' and takin' everything that a brother owns
    Hard - my calling card
Recorded and orderd - supporter of Chesimard
Loud and proud kickin' live next poet supreme
Loop a troop, bazooka, the scheme
Flavor - a rebel in his own mind
    Supporter of my rhyme
Designed to scatter a line of suckers who claim I do crime
they on my time dig it
    Terminator X

From a rebel it's final on black vinyl
Soul, rock and roll comin' like a rhino
Tables turn - suckers burn to learn
They can't dis-able the power of my label
Def Jam - tells you who I am
The enemy's public - they really give a damn
Strong Island - where I got 'em wild and
That's the reason they're claimin' that I'm violent
Never silent - no dope gettin' dumb nope
Claimin' where we get our rhythm from
Number one - we hit ya and we give ya some
No gun - and still never on the run
You wanna be an S.1 - Griff will tell you when
And then you'll come - you'll know what time it is
Impeach the president - pullin' out the ray-gun
Zap the next one - I could be you're Sho-gun
    Suckers - don't last a minute
Soft and smooth - I ain't with it
Hardcore - rawbone like a razor
    I'm like a lazer - I just won't graze ya
Old enough to raise ya - so this will faze ya
Get it right boy and maybe I will praise ya
Playin' the role I got soul too
    Voice my opinion with volume
Smooth - no what I am
Rough - cause I'm the man

No matter what the name - we're all the same
Pieces in one big chess game
Yeah - the voice of power
Is in the house - go take a shower boy
    P.E. a group, a crew - not singular
    We were black Wranglers
    We're rap stranglers
    You can't angle us - I know you're listenin'
I caught you pissin' in you're pants
You're scared of us dissin' us
    The crowd is missin' us
    We're on a mission boy

    Terminator X

Attitude - when I'm on fire
Juice on the loose - electric wire
Simple and plain - give me the lane
I'll throw it down your throat like Barkley
See the car keys - you'll never get these
They belong to the 98 posse
You want some more son - you wanna get some
Rush the door on a store - pick up the album
You know the rhythm, the rhyme plus the beat is designed
So I can enter your mind - Boys
Bring the noise - my time
Step aside for the flex - Terminator X

Ughh this blows, I mean I have O@A on my computer.. on XM.. but when im in bed in the morning Krock is very convenient instead of going in my basement to listen to Opie and Anthony. Plus there are NO more Alt rock stations here..

  • Are you F'ng kidding me!! AGAIN!
So,..if true NO major rock station in NYC! That's disgusting. The biggest market!!

O & A said they are being taken off K-Rock in NYC? I know they were taken off Boston. So they going strictly satellite.

I used to work for KROCK in NYC & this is one of the reason I am no longer there. The most disfunctional currupt F'ed up place you can ever imagine.

    It's sad. In every way

Internet radio is the wave of the future. Pioneers like Adam Carolla are proving that we can still get our fix without "the man" force-feeding us.

It's too bad when an icon of a station is flipped to provide more dumbed-down top 40 music for the masses.

Yeah I heard about it this morning too - when did they say? Wednesday??
It's such BS. Do we really need another Z-100?
"The rock is back" campaign didn't last long at all.

I love listening to O&A in the morning, then Booker (huge Pearl Jam fan) in the afternoon.
    My lips are shaking.......

It's strange that this is coinciding with the Virgin Mega Store closing... there's hardly anywhere to purchase Rock music in the city now and now there won't be anywhere to listen to it.

    lets see the history here...

102.7 WNEW back in the day was good, then they switched to all talk with O&A then O&A got kicked off the air, then the station went through about 3 or 4 format changes.

92.3 Krock - All Classic Rock, then a mix of Alt and Classic, then Stern Left, then a format change, then O&A came and then back to Alt Classic and now O&A leave and we get yet another Top 40 station. um, z100,95.5 etc cover that no?

IN Jersey by me we had 106.3 WHTG up until about 2000 when Corp America took over( this station Matt Pinfield pretty much built and where he came from). So from 2000 till about 3 months ago we had a decent Alt/Rock mix with local music as well. Now they have Flipped the format again and its TOP 40.

So now, I have about 10 TOP 40 stations that are about in a 50 mile radius of each other. I swear, radio sucks anymore.

However, 101.9 is good, and Pinfield is still great so I will listen to him. I don't have Sat radio but I do have my Ipod. I really do mis listening ot the radio esp for newer bands and local sounds. Oh well
Thats a lovely accent you have. New Jersey?

Howard Stern leaving regular radio for satellite basically killed off many stations, the next one up appears to be Krock. I've been listening to Krock since it was the Classic rock station, and 104.3 was the modern rock station. I loved that Krock broadcast all those Monkey Wrench/self pollution radio programs from Pearl Jam, as well as several live concerts all of which I recorded on cassettes.

In November 1996 I raced like a mad man from Lancaster PA where I was visiting a friend who just moved there with his family back home to Central New Jersey so I could record the "Check Point Charlie Live from Berlin" Pearl Jam concert on Krock, I also recorded the 1998 Self pollution radio program as well as the August 2000 live from Jones Beach concerts all on Krock. In the late 1990s I was in College and would listen to Howard on my way to class in the morning and to "Out to Lunch with Stuttering John and Julie Slater" when I got out.

I once hung out with Kane from the Kane and Cabbie show at a Stone Temple Pilots concert at the Roseland, the dude went around smoking pot with everyone.

It all began to fall after Howard left, I no longer listened to Krock especially when they launched that Free FM nonsense. I got Sirius and listen to Howard and the all music stations. It's a shame because listening to Krock made up a big part of my life from High School to College. It's not just Krock, living in Central New Jersey I also listened to FM 106.3, then G 106.3 which played alt rock. But now 106.3 plays Britney Spears and Flo Ri Da. Ugh!

I'm still clinging to 93.3 WMMR and 94.1 WYSP in Philly, they are the only regular radio stations I can listen to anymore. But they seem to be changing a bit playing some awful 1980s hair metal bands that I thought I would never have to listen to again.

I hope that the guys in Pearl Jam will consider doing Sirius Satellite radio for Monkey Wrench/Self Pollution shows as well as to broadcast live some concerts. They can broadcast some live shows, play DJ's and spin some of their favorite records or interview some of their friends. It's a great medium I hope they get to take advantage of, it offers so much freedom.

yea but you can barely get it out here in the burbs of long island. i live in holbrook and sometimes it fades in and out and other towns i pass through it fades in and out. then again rock music these days sucks as does krock so it dont matter to me. i'll listen to q104.3 or 103.9 wrcn or 102.3 wbab.

  • wow this really sucks, i didn't even know any of this. I listened to OandA for 20 mins this morning on the way to work but thats all I caught. So now on long island the only station to listen to is a connecticut one, 104.1. great station, but doesnt come in everywhere. Can someone have the business sense to start and mantain a functioning alternative rock station in NYC? It can't be that hard. There would be virtually no competition. This sucks.

I had been hearing that through the NY radio messageboard. With that news, I encourage you to listen to WRXP 101.9. Besides playing deeper cuts of Pearl Jam, the playlist is more diverse and you hear more new stuff on there. Hopefully, WRXP will capitalize on the K-Rock audience and stick around for a long time.

shit! 106.3 changed to top 40?! that was my favorite station back in the day in jersey! oh man the days of the friday night frenzy are long gone :( i'd always look foward to listening to it when ever i went home to toms river.
krock. eh. even when they were a rock station it was the same old crap all the time, no big loss, but it sucks not to have a major rock station in new york, makes no sense at all.

    i live in holbrook too!

remember when Q104.3 was a hard rock format? It was the best station ever. And when they swiched (when? maybe late 90s?) we needed another "classic rock" station as much as we need another top 40 station now.

    radio sucks.

where in holbrook do you live. i'm by the common. yup i do remember that, i hated when q made the switch. also a very good station in ct is 99.1 wplr. its another classic station but it plays more of the deeper tracks from artist. 101.9 wxrp in ny can do good if it plays the deeper tracks from artist and local music and doesnt go to top 40 rock. i remember on krock there was a show called local licks on sundays. it got me into a ton of local music.

WXRK To Go Top 40 On Wednesday At 5p
    How 'Now' NYC?
For the first time in nearly 30 years, New York now has a choice for hit music.
It's official! CBS will flip Rocker WXRK to Top 40 on WEDNESDAY at 5p as 92.3 NOW-FM. KANYE WEST, BEYONCE, PINK, FLO-RIDA, AKON, KATY PERRY, and JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE will be among the core artists featured on 92.3 NOW FM when it debuts on-air, online (www.923now.com), and on a variety of mobile devices.

"For the first time in nearly 30 years, NEW YORK now has a choice for hit music," said CBS RADIO VP/Contemporarly Hit Radio DOM THEODORE who will direct the programming. "With 92.3 NOW FM, we’re breaking the mold of the traditional radio station and creating a pure multi-media companion for today’s music fans."

CBS RADIO/NEW YORK SVP/Market Mgr. DON BOULOUKOS, added, "Our assets in the country's No. 1 market include among them the best known brands in the business. From the most listened to news and sports stations in the country, to the classic sounds of WCBS-FM and the adult contemporary styling of FRESH 102.7, CBS RADIO offers something for everyone in the market ... including young adults who are using the radio to discover today’s most popular music as featured on 92.3 NOW FM."

The press release goes on to says that "92.3 NOW will also be a digital and mobile destination where audience members and fans alike can stay socially connected through a variety of applications, interactive features and networking opportunities.

"The NEW YORK centric 92.3 NOW FM website will be home to extensive entertainment news and artist coverage, including audio and video blogs created by the station’s network of bloggers -- outside contributors from the area; music videos; fan forums and access to exclusive programs and events. Audience members can also follow what’s happening at 92.3 NOW FM via MYSPACE, FACEBOOK and TWITTER, as well as interact with the station through text messaging, concerts and live events."

This move displaces the entire WXRK staff. Just moments before this announcement, ALL ACCESS has been monitoring CBS Rocker WXRK/NEW YORK morning duo OPIE of OPIE & ANTHONY's TWITTER page and it just flashed:

"It's official KROCK has just informed us that our services are no longer needed. #2 M18-49,#3 M25-54. This is really bad for our show, PERIOD!"

Even more details ... coming soon!
