Years ago mine lapsed for 8 or 9 months (found out the hard way with no Christmas single) and they gave me mine back with a polite email. Good Luck.
Who do you email? I was a member back in '97. Joined again in "08 and again in "16. I would really like to see if i'm able to get my first #. Thanks in advance

😂 Ugh I wish!!! I was 69xxx when I joined in 94/95 (don’t remember). Mine lapsed in 2000 due to address changes and a move home from college. Totally bummed me out. I never thought to write in about it but now I wonder if they would have given it back to me! 🤔

Yeah they aren't giving you back your old number after an 11 year lapse, sorry but that's just a tad beyond a reasonable grace period.

I think that they give a month grace period.

Renewing Expired Memberships After 90 Days:
For memberships that have been expired for more than 90 days after the expiration date, the delinquent accounts can be renewed by logging in to the expired account and purchasing a new membership. Membership benefits will start up again on that date of payment. However, a new member number will automatically be assigned and all seniority will be lost.

For special circumstances regarding an account that has been inactive for less than one year, please contact us.

I don't even think they should give the grace period.

90 days is fair, life happens.  A year maybe only if you're in a coma maybe but I doubt you'd care at that point

I agree with 90 days. Year long extensions I wouldn't argue about. Loved ones die, people get sick, houses burn... number one on your mind at those points is probably not your 10c renewal.

Some grace period is great. Things happen, my auto renew was on an expired card, got an email telling me it didn’t go through a few months ago. Happened the week I was moving so I didn’t get around to it for about 2 weeks. I must of had 3 or 4 reminder emails in that 2 weeks. 90 days is more than being generous.

I agree that card issues should have a grace period (basically just time to get it straightened out), but I think the grace period dates back to when you had to mail in payment and there were no auto-renewals.

I was grateful for it when I re-upped my membership back in '06. Unfortunately, I let it lapse the next year (it doesn't seem like much money, but when you're broke, it is tough to justify paying for a membership *just in case* the band tours again; the singles were cool, but I don't think they did t-shirts back then). I re-joined in 2016, and I would LOVE to have my ~240xxx back, but that ain't happening, and I don't think it would be fair of me to even ask.

I never understood why this was hard. I had a reminder in my calendar and every year I would go pay for my new membership. The only time I ever had an issue was when they switched to auto renew and my credit card number had changed. So now I have to go every year and re-enter my payment information just to make sure it’s up-to-date. Which is the exact same thing I used to have to do but the downside is it helps keep others in the club, and my seats don’t get any better.

many many years ago my membership lapsed. Was probably a month or two, but maybe a little more. It was way before the numbers were such a big deal, and it was in between albums and a quiet time of the year for TC. So I emailed them when paying and they were good enough to give me a grace period. Again it was during a slow time so I imagine they are more lax when nothing is going on and if you've been a long term member versus if you are trying to jump on the bandwagon as things are announced... not that you are, but I'd bet that others have. If you email them, you may want to politely ask, and give them your old member number too.
They also haven't always had the 90 day grace period in writing. I imagine that they aren't too lenient outside of the 90 day window, since they are giving us 90 days as it is. Can't hurt to try though.
Yeah, I let mine lapse for a couple months back in 2004 when I was going through a tough patch in my life, before there was any official grace period. They were very nice about it and let me keep my number. With auto-renew I don't have to worry about it anymore, but I still do and double check pretty often, heh.

Am I remember things wrong, or did they used to let you activate old memberships? I thought around 2000 or so they made the 90 day grace period policy and said old membership can no longer be activated.

They technically still do, just with new numbers. My membership page shows my membership from 2000-2007 (doesn't show my old number), but my number is 300K higher now.

( sorry if this is a repeat querie, where it's already been answered, i just havent found where- is there a way to get one's history stats w/ the club-just for personal info?  Like I have been a long term member, who lapsed circa '12, then joined again '17- I'm just not certain when i joined the 1st time, in the '90's -although people have said it was the later '90's cuz the # i was aware of that I had was a 176××× for over?14 years or so. But in 1995 i got 4 tixs with my name on them for the San Jose show 11/4/95- so didnt I have to be a TC member then to have gotten those?--i just can't recall for sure for awhile. Just wondering...cuz I thought i had already sent in the $5. member fee before that show...Just a personal history timeline thingy i was wondering about...)

Order history is the closest to what you're asking about.

I would like a number in the range of when I wished I would have joined but thought it was lame to join a band fan club.   I don't think it's lame anymore so I should be in the 80,000 - 90,000 range.
    Like a word misplaced...nothing said...what a waste
  • I mailed in a letter to Ten Club back in about 1993 when I was 14 or 15 years old asking to join the fan club. Idiot me didn't realize that I needed to actually pay. I didn't end up joining until 2000. I would like that number from 1993 please! LOL

I used to think it was so little sister too to join a fan club - like pre-& teen thing and a "bubble-gum pop" thing ( my age shows here ) - just sayin'--- but i also came from a frame of , that if you could rock your stuff w/an acoustic (unplugged) guitar & such- that you could Truly rock!  It's still my opinion. But i learned it wasn't everyone's opinion as i branched out/ met those who "only like it 'hard' ( plugged-in, volume 11 )- etc.  It was kind of a snobbery thing on my part when i was young -

I don’t think membership number/seniority even matters any more. It doesn’t get you a guarantee with tickets anymore. The new lotto does that and keeps it “fair” to anyone, including anyone who just signed up yesterday. And as much as I want to believe it factors into seating location, my seats seem to be getting further and further back each show to the point I find myself watching a video screen because the band looks like ants on stage.
