Summer Toronto show rumour

I know that many people HATE rumours around here, especially if they are not concrete rumours, but many of us like hearing them too, so I am going to post one that I just heard.

My brother just called me. One of his friends works for Live Nation. He said that he spoke to his friend last night and that he told him that Live Nation was in talks with Pearl Jam for a show at the Molson Ampitheatre this summer. He didn't have any more details (ie: specifically when in the summer) and he did say that discussions were just in the preliminary stages, but that discussions were taking place nonetheless.

Take it for what it's worth, it is just a rumour. But it is still great to hear rumours like this.

I would almost head to the bank on that.

I've never been to Toronto, but I would love to... time to put some pressure on your sources. :x

Toronto is an amazing city to visit in the summer. As much as I don't like the Ampitheatre, it is a nice outdoor venue in the summer and the last 3 shows here have been at the ACC, so it would be a nice change.

And I am putting pressure on my sources. My brother is going to call him early next week to ask if there is an update on the situation.

I know that a certain bootleg goddess has a couch with my name on it if I were to ever visit. I may take her up on that this summer :D

THANKS for the info, Mighty BeerBaron! if there is a summer show in Toronto, it would undoubtably be at the Amphitheatre as the band prefers to play outdoors in the warm months when they can. still, the Amphitheatre is a lousy venue, but we'll take a PJ show any day of the week and twice on Fridays,...

i can't take credit for those pics, unfortunately - Kerensa has a great eye. mind you, i was sitting 4th row center at that '03 Toronto show (Mike tossing me a pic, and some fun interaction with eV) but i'd never bring a camera to a PJ show (or any show) as i don't want to experience the concert through a lens,... ;)

I hope they play Blossom Music Center here in northeast ohio if they are going to be playing outdoor venues. I would travel to Toronto if I had to, but I still don't have a passport and I think you will need one soon if not already to travel there by land. They haven't played an outdoor show in Ohio since they played at the Germain Amphitheater in Columbus in 2003, but now that venue is closed down.

They could play the Post Gazette Pavilion while they are at it and make me really happy, but I don't want to hope for too much.

They always mix it up. Look at '08 - Not including Roo and the Beacon there were 12 shows. 7 outside, 5 inside. I think we will see a mix like that on any summer tour. Personally, I prefer indoor shows for MANY reasons but always like a couple of outdoor shows mixed in there too. Jones Beach is a possibility, but in your area there are so many venues they could play that you just never know.

Ahhhhhhh, thank you. Even if it is just a rumor it is HOPE. Hope can be a horrible thing but in this instance I am having positive hope.

I just wish they would announce so we can prepare. The last two years the summer tours were announced right about now. It was just after St. Paddy's that last years went up. Excuse me I have to go find a Leprechaun!

Yes you did. And I said that I hated the venue :) But then I drove by it last week and it brought back memories of 2003. There is something to be said about an outdoor venue right on the water in the summer...

    I hate Blossom.
No offense, but it's in the sticks. I feel like I'm risking my life every time I have to drive out there. It's a death ride of winding roads. Please, don't even mention it.
I always wonder what Band members think when they go to places like that.
