no way dude!
pretty foolish of sony to only release this game on ps3. losing alot of $$$ not offering it on 360. no one is buying a ps3 just for mlb the show.
Really? Foolish, yet they've been doing it the last 4 years with great success.
I wonder if Sony was also foolish for only releasing (besides the best baseball game available) to PS customers:
Metal Gear Solid 4
Killzone 2
Little Big Planet
Gran Turismo
Ratchet and Clank
Uncharted
Socom
Resistance 1 and 2
And upcoming...
God of War 3
Mag
Infamous
The show isn't exactly the only thing worth considering a PS3 for.0 -
i am definitely not denying their success. but yeah, i think they are foolish not releasing it for both consoles. their success would be above and beyond in that case.
but i know you won't release every game ever made on all consoles avaliable. if that was the case, what would be the point of having multiple platforms on the market (push comes to shove, ps3 & 360 are a draw)?
but whatever, mlb 2k9 is garbage. i know the show is where it's at. i play it everytime i am at my friends apartment. i am just jealous i can't own a decent mlb game for 360.0 -

No way is it "garbage"...
I picked up both The Show for the PS3 and 2K9 for the 360 (like I do every year) and while The Show will get most of my playing time, 2K9 is a huge step in the right direction now that Visual Concepts took over development. If you had said 2K8 then I would've have been compelled to comment. All of my friends have a 360 so my main reason to get it was to play online since every game I've ever played of The Show online has had pretty bad lag.
Fact is, if The Show didn't exist then 2K9 wouldn't be looked so down upon. I'm still waiting for someone at Sony to introduce themselves to the analog sticks on the Dual Shock controller and realize the potential there.0 -
How's everyone's player doing?
I have two going...
A starting pitcher drafted by the Royals (yeah...wasn't too happy about that). I'm in AA right now pitching out of the pen. I have a 1.70 ERA and kicking some ass
A 3B drafted by the Astros. I'm at the end of spring training right now. Started off really slow, but have picked it up of late...hitting .275 or so with 3 HR.0 -
Went to get it today, but there were no more copies..another store tomorrow perhapsIf a man speaks in a forest and there is no woman around to hear him, is he still wrong?0

Yeah.
First of all we were talking about exclusives. The poster mentioned why The Show wasn't on 360 and said "well it would make a ton more money if it was".
Yes, that is true, but that is the definition of an exclusive.
Anyways...
Fallout is horribly repetitive. Fun game, but it's pretty much the same damn thing over an over.
I beat the main story in practically no time at all. Went back and wanted to explore and open everything. Sure...the individual storylines can be different as you explore different areas, but it's all pretty much the same thing over an over. You hit level 20 on the PS3 and nothing will really get in your way. Raiders, slavers, super mutants...pretty much just one VATS load. Lame.
I was going to but didn't really want to spend another $60 (just got Killzone 2)...it adds up. So I looked at my games and realized that Fallout was more than expendable.0 -

Fallout is a bit repetitive, the DLC raises the level cap (I stopped playing it when I found out it was being raised) but it is still excellent.0 -
Most people I know who downloaded the DLC for Fallout on their 360s said that it was incredibly disappointing (and it seems most reviews agree).
Either way, and we should get back to the topic at hand...
MLB '09 The Show is f'n awesome!0 -

Yeah, well your pitching may have been less than stellar but your offense is pretty damn good.0

Played it for the first time yesterday, incredible game. Definitely going to be picking it up soon. Can't wait for the season to start.

Rygar wrote:Simply because they'd make more money as they access twice the original install base. That's why more and more 3rd party titles are multi-platform. That isn't to say PS3-only or 360-only games don't sell and make money, just a plausible explanation for any game that was to release on both (or 3).
Yeah, that depends on who the developer is. It would make sense for a true independent developer to build a multi-platform game as everyone in the market can get their hands on it = big $.
Often those independent companies that do make exclusives do so because a company will write a contract with them with large sums of money to assure they develop exclusive to their brand name.
In the case of The Show, it is truly a Sony developed game. They don't want it multiplatform because it's a great game and they know it and it sells units (PS3s). That hardware purchase will also lead to more Sony purchases later (games, contollers, etc.).
There is so little to pull someone over from their other counsols. Cross platform games are pretty much identical, so they need to focus on their exclusives and they need to make them good. If you've already spent $300-$500 on a system, most people aren't going to get the other, or sell theirs off and get the competition unless there is something to sway their opinion. The Show has done that, and probably will continue to do so...
That is why it's not on the Wii or 360. (Oh and let's be honest here, the Wii couldn't pull off The Show)0 -
I used to be a big xbox fan. However, I have gone through three of them and my current one just got the infamous "red ring of death." I have about had it with xbox and can't see myself replacing it, I will just stick with my PS3.PJ:
