I was front row for about 8 seconds at their 1998 show at Molson Park in Barrie Ontario. There was an insane pit...and somewhere in the middle of "Intersteller Overdrive" my buddies picked me up and before I knew it...I was crowdsurfing (I know...but at least it was still the 90's) right to the front row. The crowd was holding me up for what seemed like a couple of minutes. I looked up, and I'm basically eye level and staring at Eddie directly in the eyes...I was wearing a WHO t-shirt....and he gave me a little nod right before the Security Gaurds grabbed me and threw me back into the crowd like a sack of potatoes.

    Cool Moment....closest I've ever been.

My view was pretty much the same as yours (in your avatar) :)

..hey at least Eddie gave our side lots of attention - and Mike came by once or twice too if I remember right...

  • at the 2006 irving plaza show i was around the front row. my putz friend decided to dive off of a speaker cabinet (he got clearance from the people around him and they basically egged him on...so no real danger)...if you listen to the show you can hear Ed say "look out" during solat.
i have a paper here that entitles me to fast track status

I've been lucky enough to be up there a few times. The best were Jones Beach II (2000) when Eddie read the lyrics to "It's OK" right in front of me, and Philly 2004, when Ed busted a tambourine and I persuaded a security guard (non-verbally) to give me a fragment. :D

  • I had 3rd row last June in Virginia Beach, and then 2nd Row to see Eddie in Newark. The best experience was meeting Ed and shaking his hand before the Beacon show last year.

  • Front row Holmdel NJ in '03. I was one of the people who volunteerd to give up tix at MSG in '03 when PJ overbooked it.....Tenclub promised me if I gave up MSG TIX that the next show they will garuntee me PRIME SEATS and they weren't kidding. (Yea, I know you guys might think i was crazy for giving up MSG seats but don't worry I got tix for that show and Mike M came over to where I was sitting and said HI) but back to the front row it was great....I shook hands with ed, he also gave out his micro-phone stand, it went right to the girl standing next to me. You can see me on LATG dvd during DEAD MAN WALKING......CHICKA CHICKA YEA

I was in the front row at the London Astoria show!!!

That was amazing because it was the smallest venue (1000 max i think!)

In the earlier days I had been front row for a bunch of general admission shows. I was 2nd row dead center in Vegas 2000 for 10th anniverary show. Front row in front of Mike at Irving Plaza 06. This past tour my wife and I won the lottery at both Camden Shows. Front row night 1 in front of Stone, and night 2 in front of Mike.

The best was this year at camden 2nd night Mike was talking to my wife in between songs and pointed at my necklace ( circle w/ a triangle in it) symbol for AA. Mike asked "how much time do you have" I replied 3 years" he put his fingers out of how many years he had ( which is his business). After the main set he tore his setlist off the stage and handed it to me. it read "thanks for the front row support" and was signed Mike McCready with the AA symbol drawn on it. Coolest memorabilia EVER!
Thanks for giving me the forum to tell that story!

If you're patient and willing to queue up, front row is a distinct possibility for all in most European countries!

No need to rely on the luck of the draw with tix!

Twice. Detroit in, I guess 2000? It was at Palace of Auburn Hills, best opening version of Go ever. And at second Eddie solo show in Chicago. Both were amazing but, my first show ever, Cleveland 98' I was in the 3rd row and at the end of the show me and my buddy were enthusiastically and sorta desperately trying to get ed's attention by yelling and giving him peace signs... He responded by flicking us off!! Then he laughed and mouthed "I'm joking" and gave us a peace sign. My friend and I started hugging each other. I had post pj show depression for over a month. Ahhh to be 17 again...
Further back and forth a wave will break on me, today...
  • little did i know that the night i was front row..Bostonlou's wife had won the lotto and they were about 9 seats to the left of me(front center..bastards :) )he threw his hat up on stage and Ed put it on for a few minutes..struck a pose or 2.. then threw it back to him! that shit was cool! that's how i recognized lou at the Ed solo show! i saw the hat and went up to him and was like "Lou?"...so Lou is the only 10c member i have met in the flesh so far (that i know of).

Cleveland '98, too! I was the one with the "Baba" sign! I was lucky enough to meet him for a few seconds before the show. I showed him my sign and asked him to play Baba O'Riley. During the encore, he points to the sign and grabs it from me and drapes it over his shoulders while he rocks out. I got it back and still have it to this day.
In Kitchener '05 I was just about front row middle (best seats I've ever had). I was watching Mike with awe, when my friend nudges me and motions towards Ed. While I was zoning out at Mike, Ed was trying to hand me a pick. I felt so dumb for not realizing what was going on. Thank god my guy friend was watching Ed!

Been a member since 95, not once have I been closer than row 12 :-( not even at Lolla when I waited all dayto be up front, these assholes were sooo drunk at the show that 1.) they tried to feel me up, since I'm a girl and the guy almost got decked in the face from this girl. But some younger guy, who was awesome btw, switched me places so I wouldn't have to deal with them anymore! 2.) they moshed as if they were at a Pantera show or something, complete assholes!!

  • Never been on first row seated, in 2000 I was on 2nd and 3rd for a couple shows.

I’ve been at the rail on GA shows back in the day, I use to fight my way to the front every time I could.

I wouldn’t change my seats now for GA though, even though now I don’t get near as close as I used to 10 – 12 years ago, maybe it’s because I’m older? LOL
I enjoy having my space rather than being squished by hundreds of people.
  • Front row Stones side at Roo! Fourth row in Columbia.
  • Not front row centre... but my very first show I went to (Edmonton '05 - fan for a long time, but age, responsibility and finances kept me from seeing them live before) I thought we had crappy seats, according to our tickets... but once we got to our seats we they were at the back corner of an open stage, in the first row... about 10 feet from the stage! When they did their second encore Ed came around back to our side of the stage and was singing Fuckin' Up right at me! We were both singing together, and for a full verse he was looking right into my eyes and at the end of the verse, he gave me a smile and a little nod and kinda showed my his tambourine and did a little eyebrow thing as if to say are you ready? And then he tosses me his tambourine (which I caught easily) and smiles and then kept on singing the song... I just kept looking over to my husband and saying "Holy Shit, did that really just happen???"

Definitely a moment etched in my brain FOREVER! Best moment at a PJ show ever!
Edmonton ~ September 2005 (Thanks for the tambourine Eddie!!!)

they were grabing you  fucking scum! i hate when some drunk assholes try and fuck up a good time..good thing i'm a rather large male so i don't really have too many people trying to start shit with me!but grabing a girls parts is sooooo uncool (unless she wants you to of course) i'm glad you had someone cool help you out by switching seats.

My first show, Randalls '96, waited against the rail thru Fastbacks & BH, when they were coming on Ed, was coming up the back stairs and waved to us from underneath the stage ( I think he was wearing a black suit w/sequins?), and insane pit proceeded, I got pulled out during SOLAT, very intense, great 1st experience...
And my brother & I were like 5th row Mike's side during Camden 2000, I'm visible during the close-up crowd pan, jumping my ass off during Mike's solo on Even Flow on TB2K, in my old red Yield shirt! Ah, memories...hope for a big tour and 8+ shows this year, so chance to add some more :D
I met my wife here...you can too! Don't lose hope!
