E.V. SOLO SHOWS

  • As someone else already stated, they should release a DVD like the Touring Band 2000 with several EV shows put together,,,cut out the douchbagery and make one really good concert out of all of them. Also, I wish they would release the bootlegs of both the east and west coast shows. I was not lucky enough to attend an EV solo show and would love the opportunity to own it on DVD and/or CD.

It would be a great idea. I would buy it. No doubt.

So, is it safe to say (and sadly for that matter) that EV attracts douchebags who can't control their douchebaggery?? Pretty sad...I was at both NY and the NJ shows and noticed quite a bit of douchebaggery happening around me :x

I've only found the NJ, Chi-town, DC, and Toronto shows. Only a small portion of the second Montreal show is out. :(

"They" were also filming LA1. It would be great to make a mix/mash of all the shows.

I was 3rd row for that show and I didn't see any cameras

I was there too! Didn't see no camera's!
The Toronto show's, I did see a Tripod video camera next to the soundboard station on the back! :D
there were some at the back (which was were I was with the Hollywood-type can't-shut-the-fuck-up douchbags..thank god for the generous soul that got me his spare in 5th row the following night!)

Ed really needs to come play London.. the Dully/Lanegan show at Union Chapel last month, you could have heard a fly drop!

I think I saw the small camera on the tripod near the soundboard at each show I was at. My understanding is that only DC 1 and 2 were "filmed" with multiple cameras for coverage etc. (Ed even wore the same clothes both nights for continuity no?) - unfortunately (and while I wasn't there), I am told it was one of the less stellar nights of the tour (due mainly to crowd issues, etc.) which may be why we haven't seen it go any further. I remember rumours about a cd compilation too floating around the radio around the time of the ease coast leg, but so far nada. 3 top candidates for me would be Chicago 1, Toronto 2, LA 2 or the McCready Berkeley show.

njpac was the best east coast show hands down. spankin new venue with some crowd noise but controlable. some good emotional moments. eddie thought it was very memorable. i think he wishes that show was filmed.
  • I was anticipating a release of d.c. nite one. Ed went as far to say that the evening was being documented so we could take it home with us. Not sure how long it takes to produce, especially if there are several shows being meshed together.

I've often wondered what re-listening to the Milwaukee show would be like. Don't get me wrong, I don't think it was the best of his solo gigs... due chiefly to a small collection of douchebags. I'd just be interested to see if trying to hear Ed was as maddening of an experience as I remember it being.

Also, I thought the setlist was very good... "Sometimes", "Girl From The North Country", "Gone", "I Won't Back Down", "Millworker", and "Forever Young" were all great to hear.

That being said, my vote still goes to Chicago 1... "Ship Song", "Hurt", "Sometimes", "Goodbye", the alternate version of "Betterman", "All The Way", "Helpless" with EJ, and "Parting Ways" with Liam!!! How do you compete with that?
