Yay!

A great Milwaukee record store, Atomic Records, is closing. While this is sad news, it did give me the opportunity to pick up the 1991 Let Me Sleep vinyl. Actually, my husband picked it up for me after I wanted to get it but thought he wouldn't be too happy about me dropping $75 on it. Either way, I have it now...

I'm glad you got it! but HOLY SHIT! $75 ?!?! That's a lot of money.

I found mine the same way back in 1998, a used record store browsing through their rack I found it for $3 :D it was the best find ever...

  • $75 is close to average selling price for this album, and in fact, last Summer, it was going over $100 REGULARLY when people still had money to spend...$75 is a GOOD find...obviously $50 would be better, but if this was high on the priority list (as it should have been if it was unowned) then, SWEEEEET!
  • Good for you!! What a great find!! $75 is a shit load of money but I probably would not want not pass it up either.

I have been looking for the 1991 single for a long time but have been unable to get my hands on one. These usually go for $100 on E-Bay and I have too many bills right now to drop a $100 on this.

    Enjoy!!!!! :)

I just got mine a few months back off ebay for 70 bones. It was the last one I needed to finish the collection of xmas singles.

I held off so long because it's always been expensive. I finally decided to pull the trigger. Glad you did too. I there's only 5000 of of them.. so they'll never be cheap like the other ones.

Ahhh, not that one, too rare. Got a few '03 records, I can part with one of them
  • I was at Atomic last week and got a sealed "Into the Wild" vinyl for $150 and a "Merkinball" single for $5! I saw the X-mas singles in the case, but had already spent too much. They had a couple different PJ singles left, but otherwise they were pretty well tapped of PJ stuff. They have a Batman poster signed by Eddie and I asked about it, but they told me it wasn't for sale. Sucks that its closing.

I talked to the owner (Rich) for awhile, and he hung out with Ed after the Riverside solo concert. Ed signed the poster- it says "Ed loves Rich" and then "Atomic" along the Batman light. Also, he said that Ed was pissed about all the crap that happened at the concert but that he was fine after a couple minutes.

Atomic also has the PJ doormat from the Ten era, but I couldn't drop $150 on it. I tried to talk him down from the $75 for the 1991 single, but he said he couldn't because he just sold another one a couple days ago for $75.
  • this thread would be more exciting if you got the '08 xmas single. but enjoy it none the less!
  • i knew they were slow gettin those things out but man thats a wait where do you live........oh you bought it..
oh ok cool well enjoy it...
    NEVER GIVE UP

So sad about Atomic Records closing up. :(

What's cool is they keep bringing stuff up from the basement at Atomic. I'm heading there 2morrow to see if I can score any cool stuff. :)

Edit: The snow falling today might prevent me from going today to Atomic. :(

Make sure you check the hours- they've gotten a little goofy lately. I got an email saying (I think) that they're open each day at 12, but their site says differently. It may be worth calling to check when you go. And yes, this stupid white crap sucks! I was hoping it was done... I shoulda known.

this just reminded me I need to track down some old friends. back in '92(high school days) when I, as alot of us were just discovering PJ, some girls I was friends with had the first 2 singles. in my small town was an MCA/Universal(the placed changed owners over the years) distribution warehouse. well the parents of these different girls all worked there, and got those records for them. at the time I didn't think much of it. if I can reconnect with one of them and they still have them boxed away, i'm sure they'll hook me up as I know their interest in PJ drifted by the time I was in college. i don't know if the records were pressed here, or just somehow passed through. another giant building corporate has been sitting empty for many years now.

    hello Facebook!

WOW, great deal!. I got mine off EBAY 5 years ago for $95.00. All I needed after was the 97 Happy when Im Crying after that. I ended up getting that to complete my collection when my ex-girlfriends mother found it cleaning out an apartment after some people moved out. They left it behind and luckily her mother knew I loved PJ. So that was a great way to complete my collection.

$75 is very cheap for that bad boy, considering what they usually go for... sweet find! Reminds me of the highly sought after Soldier Field bootleg on vinyl... 12 years ago my friend paid $60 for a sealed copy at a local record store to give me for my 17th birthday... :D it still smells great!
