Today is the last day. What a bummer. I really liked his show. :(

As if we need another KIIS.
Very smart, always good discussion...oh well. :(
I'm definitely going to miss his rants.
I listened today and he said that he has some stuff lined up, but just couldn't talk about them at this point.
I'm also going to miss Teresa. She was the perfect person to have with Adam.
Oh well...it sucks...Top 40 sucks...
I worked at a radio station that laid off a whole bunch of people at once (highest rated jocks, etc included) and those were horrible days to go to work. It also got to the point you had to read the memo of laid off people posted everyday to see if you'd be working that day.... Like, if your name wasn't on the list, you were safe for the day...I've seen a lot of people suddenly not have their careers anymore and it's really really shitty...
Cheers Adam, Teresa (and new baby-to-be), and Bald Brian....!
It's just so bazaar how this happened despite their amazing ratings. Is it because Adam's show (Adam, T, and Bald Brian) cost too much?
It's funny, I was never a Adam Carolla fan until I started listening to his show. I always though he was a dick, then I started listening (here in AZ, the Adam Carolla show took over for another awesome morning show who got the axe for Ace). Became a fan in no-time flat.
Adam's not really a Top 40 morning show kind of host so I'm sure he couldn't be kept on after the flip.
Adam himself said, it's a business decision and he doesn't have hard feelings for it. But he'll still be podcasting!
I just don't get that. He was no. 1 in regions outside of LA (In Las Vegas for example). I realize he was on a local station in LA, but don't the affiliations bring in a good deal of money to that very station that pays him the big $? I know here in Phoenix he was doing really well too.
The fact is, there is no justification for them to pull the plug other than the $ the station gets in pulling the plug for pop culture bullshit.
Adam also admitted today that he has things lined up. Hmmm...wonder if those others that signed him knew of his "poor" radio ratings.
Either way, I'll miss him in the AM.
'
a form of censorship maybe?
Farewell, Adam
Get it on!!!
Another Simmons' fan! I recently started listening to his podcasts and really enjoy them. I have been reading his column for awhile but stayed away from the podcasts for some reason. The one with Chris Connolly about the Oscars was really good.
I always thought Adam was fairly funny, and as mentioned above...kinda thought he was a dickhead before I started listening to him.
I think why I didn't like him before was because when I saw him, he was either on The Man Show or Loveline. Both made him look like a prick. But I think that was "the bit". I started listening to him on his show and was really surprised. He's a bright guy who put on a pretty smart show. It's just a sign of the economic and intellectual times now that his show is off. It's really too bad.

I honestly don't understand why they would get rid of the show when they have to pay him (as he mentions on Simmons' podcast). If they bring someone else in then they are out even more money and if they just play music they might as well have the guy coming in who they are paying.
I wonder how long that will last...
not that you guys give a shit :P
Were they playing pop music? Is 97.1 normally a decent station?
back in like 1987 the started as a classic rock station (KLSX ) and then in 1991 howard started on the station...in a couple years they decided to go all talk...i think kato kalin and cindy brady were some of their early hosts  eventually they settled on a good lineup....howard, "frosty, heidi and frank" and tom leykis  ....leykis sucks but frosty, heidi and frank were entertaining
Thanks, that does make sense.

I love sirius radio and listen to stern regularly!
i still haven't deleted it yet...mostly because there's nothing to replace it
The frequencies in my truck, that was my sisters also back in the day...so it's been around for a while, a bit of a family traveller, are still programmed to 105.5, 100.3, 107.1, 95.5, 106.7 and 97.1. I'm rocking old school radio in that bad boy.
