actually, there are quite a LOT of cool colors there...but $18 for one bottle?!
definitely one of those things i actually don't want to try, b/c if i like it too much, i'll always want it. granted, i don't buy many bottles of nail polish in a year, but still....$18.
haha.
i think this thread is definitely pushing me to go more 'bold' with my colors. only problem with that is, darker or bolder colors....sooooooooo much more obvious when they chip, and i HATE chips, but i don't like doing my nails more than once a week. eh, who knows....see if something tempts me. i wish they made a LOT more color choices in the quick-dry polishes.
btw - i don't *get* the issue with a nail polish thread? :? what's the problem? this place is filled with BS, why not nail polish? sheesh.
that's a nice color! yeah $18 is a little rich for my blood, that can go towards a pedicure lol
i agree that is the pain in the ass with dark colors. one little chip and it's glaringly obvious. it's hard for me to pull off really pale colors with my complexion, especially if they're opaque, but i'm gonna try to find a middle ground for different colors, just to play around and expand my horizons
yeah more choices for quick-dry would be awesome!
i don't care what anybody thinks about the subject matter of the thread. there's more garbage than this floating about lol
well i am sure you could find plenty of volunteers for that job, pedicure or no.
and really, i was just illustrating simply how FANTASTIC pedicures feel...b/c they do! it's not just about pretty feet, tho that is definitely a bonus...and quite honestly, many a man could do with prettying up his feet.
altho hey, if you want to be more 'manly' about it...just go for a total body massage................oooooooooo sweet bejeebus...........BLISS!
unfortunately with the state of my back at the mo, any kinda massage on the back is absolute agony  I went a couple of months ago and she had to stop cos I was in so much pain :(

seriously, $18 i can get a manicure AND a pedicure, just need to throw in the tip!
see, i would think really pale colors would look beautiful on you. i think pales work with kjust about anyone. i wear a sheer, pale pink when i want some color, but also staying power. i LOVE really dark polish next to my very pale skin, but you got it....damn chips, i can't be bothered wearing it too often.
i am definitely going to explore more colors - but yes, in the quick-dry!
and yea....seriously.......i am LOVING all the threads about nothing lately, that's what i always loved about the AET, nice to see it coming back to form.
helen - that is just criminal. truly. i've been getting a weekly mini-massage since the end of january, thru april 15th, courtesy of the firm...and it IS bliss! i have a GC for a FULL massage burning a hole in my pocket, but i am saving it as a 'reward' for a goal i hope to reach soon. tho, i've had it a year already! :? better get movin!
Eiffel For This Color - Blood burgundy w/a hint of sparkle
Russian Navy - Deep eggplant w/a hint of blue
Yoga-ta Get This Blue - Deep ocean blue w/a bit of sparkle
And my all time favorite, which I wear all the time is Lincoln Park After Dark, which is a deep blood red. I'm super pale, I like how the dark colors contrast against my skin. The paler colors make me look ill and the pastel/bright colors make me look too pink-skinned.
I have seriously weak nails that break, crack and take forever to grow. If you fall into this category, try Nailtiques Nail Protein #2. It's spendy, but it will change your outlook on nailpolish forever

you can't get much more pale than me...and a pale, sheer pink just looks bright/natural on me, just a hint of color. you've posted that lincoln park after dark color in the past, and it IS beautiful! i am just too cheap to buy all this stuff. :P i don't want to change my outlookj forever...b/c then i will find too many 'things' i cannot live w/o, and that's never good. i have enough indulgences....haha.

loucifer.....sounds beautiful!
Yeah you were pretty pale too - we'll have to do a wrist-to-wrist comparison one day I can't seem to find a nice sheer pale color that looks ok with me (the red hair & ruddy skin) but if you have a recommendation, I'd definitely try it.
Lincoln Park is awesome.. and really if you get one of the Ulta 20% off coupons, it's not too bad. Plus, their stuff lasts a long time, I think because you don't need to constantly reapply it. But most nail places carry that shade, so if you're getting them done professionally, might as well let them keep it in stock

The Nailtiques #2 though? Definitely worth it.
yes, while both pale...definitely different complexions/overall coloring, more than likely. i m not ruddy, and i have very dark brown hair, so might make a difference? idk. i just use maybellin'es quick dry sheer pink. cannot recall the name, it's the only quick dry sheer pink they have. 'blushing bride' or something perhaps? :P also have a really nice deep red/burgundy....but no, not as nice as the lincoln park after dark. and see, now you are encouraging me to go shopping in stores i don't visit, get coupons, etc, etc....very bad influence! 2009 is all about paring down, cutting back...not more indulgences. (but i'lll probably look into it anyway, sometimes a splurge is good) haha.
and the nailtiques...just not an issue for me. i have strong nails.
felt like bumping this thread, got my toes done last week and went for a color i would never get before....it's this teal, sorta like a peacock blue! all shiny too, looks like a car paint color....love it http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/2 ... AA160_.jpg looks shinier than the bottle shows. i'm gonna go back in a week or so to get another pedi for my bday, maybe get a bright tangerine

go for it! a perfect indulgence for your birthday.
i have never had a professional manicure or pedicure.
i like to do it myself.
