  • Nah, there's like a million other songs they have that I like better. The only good thing to me is that it's getting them new exposure on our local radio station in Las Vegas. If they play Slipknot one more time I'm gonna puke! Anyways, it's always good to hear them, even if it's not my favorite.
  • You crazy! Just kidding, I'm sure there are no foreseeable consequences for your not liking "Brother." 8-)

I think it sounds great. I cant wait to put the remixed Ten on the turntable. Gonna be a good year for Pearl Jam fans.

i think it all comes down to what version you heard 1st. i'm assuming all people who dislike this new version heard the Lost Dogs version before they heard this version or even the original rough mix version from back in the day.

and the people who like it heard the original 1st.

cause me, i remember i must of heard brother pretty early in the piece, well round 95 or something when i was 1st really getting into PJ. and i know i love it, and i hated the lost dogs version.

but yeah it'd be interesting to see what version people heard 1st and if they like it or not. cause i'm gonna say peeps who heard the instrumental 1st hate this version, and peeps who heard the original love it.

I prefer the insturmental. Almost wish they would rework all the songs as intsrumentals and can Ed! j/k

Oh and IMHO Sleight of Hand is one of their best songs.

I agree, Sleight of Hand is a great song, underated. I like Brother, I like the rough mix and the new version, but not everyone is going to like everysong.

    yes, yes you are

There are better versions than the remixed one..
  • I have never heard this song until recently and i do like it. It reminds me of a screaming trees song how the song starts out with guitar soloing. It brings back good memories and feelings of that era, :P

I heard the instrumental on Lost Dogs first...loved it...but it was missing something. Then I heard the shitty quality version I found @ five horizons and loved it! Eddies tortured screams suits it IMO.

Not into the lyrics of this remixed version...it sounds like eddie was of the same mindset as Stone when he recorded this version....sounds forced rather than released like the original.

not a huge fan. the chorus isn't bad, but you only really get two of them early on and that's it. after about a minute and a half, i lose interest in the song.
i'm more a fan of popular bands.. like the bee-gees, pearl jam

    For me:
    1. Ten Demo version
    2. Studio Version
    3. 09 Re-release version
    4. Instrumental.
And so you see, I have come to doubt

what is the difference between the Ten demo/anything in between? I just notice on the anything inbetween its just more bassy and better quality.

The ten demo is grittier and at the end has ed saying" I'm gonna go home, turn on the tv..........." part. The studio version cuts that out. Thats basically the only difference, except for the cleaned up audio/vocals.

  • I really liked the first demo version of the song when I heard it but the new version has been growing on me. I still really would have like the demo version to be remixed but I am still happy with the new one.

grr, just don't like this one!

I miss the "birds dont even whisper" so badly, and other random "yeh's" and stuff which should be in there.

  • I've heard the classic version w/lyrics (which is tight), i've heard the instrumental version (which is tight), and I just heard the NEW mix w/lyrics which is ....SUPA TIGHT! This is a B-SIDE so NOT every fan will "GET IT." I think its got that great early 90's jam/vibe and as far as the lyrics go...i think Ed was "venting some sibling frustration." All in all ANOTHER KILLER SONG TO ADD TO THE ENORMOUS PJ SONG CATALOG! Very Nice..... 8-)
