New & Improved Spectrum Speculation...

So I normally hate concert rumors because they get me needlessly excited, but after reading the Spectrum stuff on here I asked my sister, who works for Comcast-Spectacor, to put her feelers out at work and to let me know if she hears anything.

Well today she told me she asked her boss if he's heard anything about Pearl Jam coming and he said "Yeah, but I can't really give any details."

So take it for what it's worth, but I wanted to share with you guys.

    sounds about right. I don't see why they wouldn't play there if the place was still up while PJ is touring

    Damn. We'll here's to hoping that any September date avoids that week and the weekend of the 26th. There are only really 2 days all summer that I can't travel for PJ - two weddings.

    Nice, that sounds like its more than speculation! Its probably already booked for prospective dates, they just can't comment until 10c oks the schedule, tour dates, but the Fall would make sense, Sept-NYE really...

    Good point, things do change. Like the fact that there was a West coast tour originally scheduled for last year that didn't materialize. Things change. Plans change.

    I am going to be plenty pissed if those 3 nights in September are the weekend I have that wedding to go to. Either that or I am going ti be plenty single around Septmeber 26th :lol:

    I'm still waiting on that 2008 Vote For Change show My2Hands promised us. I think they are going to announce it any day now. Can't wait!

    I'm been saying they'd play the Spectrum for awhile. The last event scheduled for the building is supposed to be a concert on 9/30. Going by Rolling Stone's article last week, it looks the new album will be a fall release so a September show or shows looks very, very likely.

    It would be really cool if Pearl Jam was the last event at the venue, but I'd be really, really happy as long as they play at least one last show there.

    The show there in 2003 is still my fav PJ concert out of 40 plus I've seen.

    So the stories go. Came straight from Mike's wife's mouth last year. There were very strong rumours about venues being tentatively booked (I specifically remember San Diego being one of those), so it is not all that surprising.

    The Spectrum '03 show was the loudest fan participation show I've ever been too..I thought the roof was gonna blow off!!

    Around 5-8 miles. It's a bit of a pain in the ass, but you can take a train from the airport to center city Philly, then take the subway to the Spectrum. I'd estimate an hour and $10 each way. Check Septa.org for specifics.

    There's also a Holiday Inn right near the Spectrum.
