    Well, if you believe you are going to drown by getting your head dunked or your hearing will be compromised by the loud music, then yes, it is torture.

    Those can still cause false confessions. Mere sleep deprivation can cause it. I'm working on a case where a guy was kept awake and interrogated for 48 straight hours by about 10 different police officers. He confessed to the rape and murder of a little girl. But he didn't do it and DNA and all the physical evidence proves it. When you're under duress you'll say or do anything just to get some sleep or a temporary reprieve, figuring you can straighten it out later... because you're not thinking logically. You'll say whatever they want to hear. I don't think you can even begin to imagine that kind of madness it might cause to be locked in a room with no hope of escape and having loud heavy metal blaring into your bright cell 24/7 for months. You'd crack and say whatever it took to get it to stop. It's easy to think it'd be no big deal, because you've never had discomfort remotely close to that kind of psychological abuse.

    Please explain to me how waterboarding and sleep deprivation are NOT torture.
    I would admit to ANYTHING if I was put under these conditions.

    IMO, the second we torture, we are no better than the terrorists.

    Bush/Cheney/Rumsfeld created this mess. Now its up to President Obama to have to make the hard choices in order to PROTECT the United States of America from an INTERNATIONAL war trial against Bush/Cheney/Rumsfeld. What's wrong with investigating HOW the confession was obtain.

    What do you think America would have to do if Bush/Cheney/Rumsfeld was imprisoned in another country that recognized WAR CRIMES. There's no statute of limitation on war crimes.

    Don't forget CHENEY publicly bragged about the use of TORTURE.

    However, they should be punished LEGALLY. If a confession is obtained illegally, than it holds absolutley no merit. We should have the TRUTH come out.

    Look into waterboarding. It is not as innocent :roll: as having your head dunked. It's fucking disgusting, and would be absolutely horrifying. Anyone that can do that to another human, 'on orders', or giving them, should be on trial.

    You don't know that they're scumbags, that's the point. Do you REALLY care about catching the people that bombed the USS Cole? Or do you just want someone to be tortured and killed so that you can feel better about it and who cares if they actually did it? Because it sounds like the latter matters more to you than making sure the REAL bombers are caught and brought to justice.

    3000 people did not die in the Cole attacks. This is pretty clear evidence to me that you don't care who actually did the Cole attacks... you're just angry and scared about terrorist attacks on this country in general and you want some dead Muslims to make you feel better.

    I don't give a damn what you call them. I have no respect for those that harm innocents either... which is why you don't torture people. You prove they are guilty, and THEN you punish them. You don't torture them in the hopes that you will find out they are the guilty ones. Because if they are not the guilty ones, you have tortured and harmed an innocent person and you are no better than the terrorists you condemn.

    O.k. Im going to set the record straight .I want to see some justice for the families of the Cole attacks. This dosent mean I want to see any one tortured or killed. I want to see the persons responsible prosecuted in a military tribunal and then life behind bars. IF THEY ARE FOUND GUILTY. b/c I don't believe in the death penalty :o .When I said 3000 dead I was referring to 911 you got that soulsinging ? :roll: I thought you would have known that b/c you seem more educated then most people that have posted on this thread. Also on of my best Friends dad was killed on 911 and I saw how it effected him. So when I hear about these sort of things I have a tendency to get a little heated.
