Really.....not that it really matters but to play this game...do you know the "vermin" illegals were indeed spanish decendants? Been to Mexico? I'd bet the "vermin" had closer "family" ties to native American Indians than that ole white boy rancher....wadya think.
What makes us so special to think we're the ones, the chosen ones for this land. Only reason the ole rancher and most of us are here and have what we have is simply where our parents copulated...we're not special. Just freakin lucky.

The humans that decide to leave their home countries, family, social structure, norms to make better lives for themselves, risking death have more balls than most Americans. And as was posted earlier in the thread..its the good ole white folks that frequent establishments that hire illegals, have affordable housing due to cheap labor...have their yards cut, cars washed...its all the pull....we need to stop blaming illegals for anything..its all us folks..look in the mirror.

No need for you to apologize since I dont' have a warm "I'm so special" feeling to begin with. Far from it, however, I would probably be more sympathetic to the illegals if they didn't damage this guy's property. Whether you like it or not, there is a process for people to enter the United States legally, and until that process is changed, illegals will be illegals and I will not feel so bad for them if they choose to enter unlawfully. The difference between people like this white rancher and the people entering from mexico is that this rancher's ancestors entered the country through the legal procedures, so yeah, he's lucky. Lucky his ancestors decided to go about it the lawful way.

So let me get this straight, people that descended from the Spanish have closer ties to the Native Americans as opposed to others of European descent? And these same Spanish were NEVER oppressive to the natives they found when they first arrived?

I do agree, that the focus should be on the places that hire illegals, though.

What happened in the past is unfortunate, but it happened. It happened in Mexico too, for that matter.

And yes, the white man DID enter this country legally. When the white man came over and slaughtered the natives it wasn't the United States; it was Indian land then. I recognize that it's sad that this happened, but the way things stand now, this is the United States.

You assume too much in thinking that I haven't read up on history other than what was fed to me in school. You also assume too much when you project an image onto me about how I "must" believe our conduct in the past was acceptable just because I don't completely agree with you on this.

I realize that but judging from what you said earlier, when you questioned me as to whether or not I knew the illegals were of spanish descent, you did not.

My post was a bit harsh...wasnt' really intended...and wasn't directed to at you per se...but to all Americans that use selective romanticized thoughts of the past to feel better about our history and existence. USA USA USA USA

Was cruising through central Texas yesterday and when I do like to listen to local small town radio stations....had a Christian channel discussing how the founding fathers intended this country to be "Christian Based" and that Columbus got the idea of coming to this continent by God.....just started laughing...yep God wanted you to come here and anialate (sp?) a people..woo hoo.

I heard on fox news yesterday that the rancher lost in court yesterday . I think there were a total of 12 illegal aliens that were trying to sue him. 9 of the cases were thrown out but 3 won on. I think he has to pay around 76 or 78,000.00 I guess that's better then 32 million but still. what country are we living in where you can't even protect your property any more. This is so appalling on so many levels :x :x

He said that happens... the article didn't say it was the individuals who were sueing him who did that. Also, I like how they glossed over the fact that he KICKED A WOMAN :shock: :shock: . This is no nice old fella simply warning people away with guns... the woman who was kicked is likely to be one of the 3 who won. I'd like to know the whole story on this. I agree nobody should kick a woman, He was interviewed on fox and that was one of the questions he was asked. and he said all he did was nudge her with his foot b/c he was trying to get her to move into an area where he could keep an eye on every one. who knows maybe he did maybe he didn't, but I still think he shouldn't have to pay a dime.

In this litigious world, you know you're taking a financial risk when you treat people like animals... now if they were in his house or in the direct vicinity of his house, I'd feel different.. I think everyone should have a right to defend their home and family... but LAND IMO is a different story, especially when you own the equivilent of a TOWN :roll:
