How we respond says a lot about who we are...

Nobody deserves to have errant charges on a bank statement that may impact their livelihood (whether that means being unable to buy food tomorrow or tickets on Friday). And nobody should just let an issue such as the one that happened yesterday go by without a response. But the fact of the matter is that nobody should be raging against the Ten Club in such heinous language with a holier-than-thou attitude.
Yes, the Ten Club screwed up as do other companies big and small from time to time. And as a customer, it is my responsibility to hold the company accountable for the services they promise (in this case tickets). How I choose to respond says a lot about me as an individual, and I choose to respond to the Ten Club directly, personally, and professionally. But when the response becomes "bitching" by a collective group of disgruntled fans it looks poorly upon the entire Pearl Jam community.
Offer your constructive criticism. Suggest ways for the Ten Club to make improvements. Vent a little here and there. But be sure to balance your anger with positivity.
We -- the fans -- are a unique group, and those fans who reside on this message board are an even more unique subset of the fan population, and it is our responsibility to be representatives of the tens of thousands of fans out there world-wide. I shutter to think what impression we have made on the fans outside of the US.
We are the lucky ones (fans world-wide). We are members of an exclusive club that caters to our needs for tickets, media, and posters. But the overwhelming response to these benefits seems to be "it's never enough."
Demand is apparently ever increasing (the slammed servers yesterday is evidence of that fact), and the Ten Club will work to accommodate that end. We as fans may need to suffer from our own fervor for more until the system is repaired. Until then, be happy if you got tickets... be upset if you didn't... feel wronged if you got charged without tickets to show for the debit to your account... but, more than anything, be civil in how you conduct yourself in this forum.
I am a proud member of the Ten Club and of this message pit, and I have faith in both the people on this board and the people who manage it. There has never been a time when a mistake hasn't been rectified by this band or the people who support it.
Remember that.

While I don't think they deserve the holier-than-thou attitude, they aren't helping things by skirting around the known issues.
However, this is a message forum and people will bitch.
The only thing I see wrong with what the original poster stated is that the 10club does not always rectify mistakes.
This problem will be rectified, without a doubt. But the problem with the server every time tickets go on sale has not been rectified, and it is not a new problem. That is a legitimate beef among many people here.
Till there aint nothing left worth taking away from me.....
they definitely were on here yesterday morning because they moved all the questions and angry declarations by their customers into a thread called "...bitchfest"
so, not only are they disrespectful to their customers who at this point have many good reasons to be good and angry with them, they have also given us no word about what is being done to rectify the situation.
and by rectify, i don't mean anything about more shows with people who've already been charged for tickets getting first crack or anything like that -- just a response as you would expect to receive from any other business and the removal of all holds from accounts as quickly as possible.
and the silence speaks volumes, doesn't it?
the lack of communication is the most maddening
aspect in all of this.
I understand that the problem may not be the easiest to fix, but you would think after all the years of hearing bitching and complaining from various service failures on the site in regards to selling Posters (the great poster sale of 03 when they sold all the extra posters causing the site to collapse), when the site collapsed when they sold Benaroya on vinyl, and the numerous ticket sales that have caused the site to collapse (Wachovia 05, 06 tour, Vic, and now this) that they would address the situation.
I think the only time they ever addressed any of these server failures was with the promise of the Big, Bold, Beautiful and Free sticky that was posted after the Wachovia sale debacle in 2005.

It's ashame they never followed thru on the Big Bold Beautiful and Free thing... and guess what, there was alot of silence surrounding that issue too.

Social awareness does not equal political activism!
5/23/2011- An utter embarrassment... ticketing failures too many to list.
f-yeah!
If people bought tickets to see Ed sit on a stool when they really needed that money to feed themselves, then the 10c should be applauded for teaching them a lesson about life's priorities. Good for them.
if this was the first time something like this has happened it would be one thing, but its not. everytime a new "offer" comes around, tickets, posters, vinyl, etc. etc. it just gets worse. they NEED A NEW SERVER! plain and simple. the demand is high, and when the supply is so limited, they need to be ready to take care of it.
i am a huge supporter of the 10c , like i said in another thread, i think they get it right 9 out of 10 times, but this has been happening more often then not as of late. something needs to be done about it, and silence is not the answer.
with that said, i didnt even try for tickets, i live in Ohio and just would not be able to go.
also, the reason i left this board over a year ago was becuase of the constant bitching, but with that being said, i have to agree, this is just getting to be too much.
still, i love the 10c and believe they will fix the problems.
i just hope its sooner rather then later.

It would be the right thing to do and go a looooooooooong way.
Where I'm not ugly and you're lookin' at me
hehehehe.....
i dont know fanch.....
i saw a guy on here late last night who had close to $3000 charged to his bank account....
$3000 missing from a bank account......would stress out 95% of the people on this board....
hell im willing to bet 70% of the folks here dont have $3000 in a checking/saving account....
Till there aint nothing left worth taking away from me.....
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAAHAHAHHAAHAHHAAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
people werent getting charged just once for the tickets though.. some had $1000's 'pending' from their account as they kept hitting buy to try and get them... if it was just the one set of tix i'd agree, but having $1600 pending' on your account therefore making you unable to use that account is really the heart of the issue on this one.
I will, however, make one observation:
It has been just over 24 hours since The Great Server Debacle of (February) 2008. Any reasonable business will take quick action to respond to such an incident, but quick does not mean immediate. If I were in the Ten Club's position, I would be drafting a response that includes proposed solutions. Those solutions are not likely to be determined solely by Kat or any one person connected with this board. I would also be sure I had all my ducks in a row regarding any legal ramifications. There were a lot of posts about "taking legal action" against the Ten Club and/or recouping funds lost to overdrafts, etc. You don't offer an apology that directly implies fault (even when you are at fault).
Something will come of this.
Have faith.

$3000? Well, I stand corrected.
I was thinking $130 for two tickets for a show. $3000? Wow. Yeah that's pretty messed up.
the 10club is telling the people on the phone to "keep trying ...keep trying"
every time they made an attempt at tickets their charge card/debit card was charged....
but they didnt get tickets....
i would be fucking FURIOUS!!!!!!
thats just so fucking wrong...
Till there aint nothing left worth taking away from me.....
The way something came from all of the previous incidents I mentioned? I didn't even mention the European tix sales from 07 that had server problems as well.
This problem has been going on for at least 4 years now since they've been doing online sales and the server issue has never been addressed.

exactamoondo !! its not just tickets, maybe this it the first time people were charged in triplets for things, but everytime something goes on sale, records, posters whatever, there are issues with the 10c's server.
