NIN playing the late night slot is all I need to hear!!
I'm thinking Springsteen plays the headlining spot Saturday night and then NIN takes Kanye's early morning spot like last year.....that would be great

ya i'm thinking the same thing about NIN and kanye's spot... i also think the mars volta will be taking sigur ros' spot that night aswell. Well more hoping for it so that these 2 don't conflict with each other :)

I'm fine with that. The Lights in the Sky show was amazing, but I also love the raw NIN show as well. This show is going to be mint on the farm!

They just played Non-Entity, AND The Downward Spiral (the song) in Auckland NZ last night. And Burn, and Suck. I think there will be some interesting setlists by the time its Bonnaroo. Damn I want to go.

I love La Mer. I'll think about it! If I go, though, I will be bringing kids (I have 2 teenagers, and one might want HER friend to go too) - I also have to manage work - I may be a little shorthanded in terms of my staff, but I really think this is the Bonnaroo to go to if I go to one.

It will be awesome, but I think last year was the "one" to go to ;)

Well I'm not going to complain - I saw 5 PJ shows last year and didn't have to sleep in a tent! But Bruce, AND Trent at the same show. Plus some others.

For me, last year was definitely the "one" to go to strictly because of PJ and Metallica, but there were many more I wanted to see, some of which I actually did.

This year, Bruce was "the" reason I immediately decided to go when it was announced, but I think this year's line-up has more overall that appeals to me.....Beastie Boys, Mule, Al Green, NIN, Ben Harper and on and on.

Overall, though, it is a festival that you have to prepare yourself for and if you can't take sleeping in a tent then you will be miserable. It's not as intimidating as it might seem to be to a first-timer. As reluctant as I was to go last year even with PJ and Metallica, I can see myself going again and again now because it truly is a wonderful weekend, a getaway from reality and an excellent way to let everything go and clear your mind. Oh yeah, and there's shitloads of good music too.

And I have been re-thinking my prediction that NIN will play the middle-of-the-night-early-morning slot like Kanye was supposed to last year. That's because Kanye was given that spot only because he bellyached about being on the What Stage. Maybe they don't really want to do that again
All I have to do is revel in the everyday....then do it again tomorrow

  • I think it's sily to make a comment like last year was "the" time to go. I went in 07' and 08', and as much as PJ is one of my favorite bands I preferred 07'. I just liked the bands overall.

And no offence to PJ, but Tool on the main stage was mind-blowing. No Tool shows I've seen toped any PJ shows, although that Roo show topped many PJ shows imo. I can't decribe the feeling that night.

Mars Volta is probably one of the best live bands today..that's one reason I bought tix for 09'!

I wouldn't say its silly at all, because I had never ever given a second thought to going before last year and I'm sure that is true of many other people, but I see what you are saying. Having gone and getting ready to go a second time, I will probably be a regular as long as I am able. Like I said before though, this year's line-up as a whole appeals to me more than last year's. The thing with Bonnaroo is that you can always find a damn good band to see and you are probably going to miss out on some of them you really want to see.
I'm sure some folks who went just because of PJ last year won't be going this year and probably will never go again, so for them it was the 'one" to go to, a once-in-a-lifetime experience if they were ever going to do it and that is how me and my friends approached it last year
