Nice, good lineup. That should appease everyone. Phish for 2 sets is great, especially after so many were screwed out of tickets last weekend. Wilco is sick as always and I hear NIN puts on a great live show. Not to mention Bruce and the E Street Band! Would have been nice to see KOL on there, but I think they are touring in Europe. I went in 2006, 2007 (miss pjams 08 though) and had a blast. Have fun to all planning on attending!!

See, Phish playing 2 nights is a huge reason I'm not considering this... I don't pay the big bucks and sleep in mud to have the big draw of the show (seeing a ton of huge headlining acts in one place) undercut by giving one band 2 nights.

That said, if NIN is doing their Lights in the Sky show one last time, it should be amazing.

I will be there and NIN should be one of the headliners...I'm hoping that one of the Phish sets will be the extended late night set like MMJ did last year so NIN could in fact headline.

This is the first year I look at the two lineups and it's clear to me that Bonnaroo > Coachella (again, this is for my musical taste) ...

Too bad I just have no interest in heading to Tennessee.

Congrats to those that are going, should be a good time.

No Fleet Foxes at the Roo :(

Otherwise that lineup is awesome. I would much prefer the Roo line up to the Coachella Line up.

The prevailing thought is that Phish will headline one night and then do a late night set a different night. I'm not a Phish fan so I'm really hoping this is true.
I wish I was as fortunate, as fortunate as me.

  • Holy Shit!!!! I said before that the Boss was probably the only act that would get me back on the farm, so this jackass saddled up! Bruce, NIN, Ben, Beastie Boys, Gov't Mule and the list goes on and on! I can't wait!

Anyone who has never been....GO! It is great fun not to mention an escape from reality for a few days!

For those who are complaining about Phish, most people agree that the schedule is going to look like this:

    Friday
    Headliner: Nine Inch Nails
    Late Night: Phish

    Saturday
    Headliner: Bruce Springsteen
    Late Night: Beastie Boys

    Sunday
    Headliner: Phish

Or, at least something to that effect. Phish will headline one night and play a late night set the other night (so you'll have plenty of more acts to choose from - and get up close to!).

That is a solid lineup but I'm gonna have to miss out this year. It was fun last year, but ate up all my vacation money, so I want to do some different things this year. Don't have a travelin' companion (read: girlfriend) this year anyway. :(

I would also theorize that Phish will do a late night Friday set and then headline on Sunday.

NIN will not be doing the same show as the Lights In The Sky tour. That is over. sorry.

I have this amusing image in my head of Phish fans and NIN fans packed into the same area.

    Agreed.
Kinda wish MMJ was coming back and doing the late night set again...pure greatness. Also wish KOL was gonna be at Roo this year too :|

Aaaah NIN and Bruce. Bonnaroo as a festival has never appealed to me (I didn't go to see Pearl Jam at it last year, waiting for their regular shows), but my kids want to go.... I don't know.

It'll be the best money you've ever spent, trust me. It's like Disneyworld for adults. Went last year and will be going again in 2009. The value you get at 60 bucks a day for all that music plus camping simply cannot be beat.

2016 Bonnaroo, Fenway I, Fenway II

  • I am committed for the second straight year and I think I am looking forward to it even more than last year, even though that was all about PJ. I spent so much time thinking it was going to be such an awful experience what with the camping and all that I entered the whole thing kind of uptight about it in a way, but it was quite a pleasurable experience all the way around....we did get really lucky with a camp site less than five minutes from the gate though.
It really is a great thing, really great people for the most part. I remember standing there that Friday afternoon watching the DBTs with a cold beer in my hand thinking about the poor saps back here at work and wishing I never had to see them again....its a really good way to clear your mind and get away from everything for a few days.
When I think about seeing Springsteen (gonna be shooting for front row on that one), Beastie Boys, NIN, Ben Harper, Al Green, Gov't Mule, Alejandro Escovedo, Delta Spirit, Elvis Costello and more in a four-day span, I wish I was on my way to Manchester now!
I just hope the main stage is good all day leading up to Springsteen cause I will be there for the long haul

Oh Yeah....I did predict the Boss some time ago and was passed off as a numskull! So there! :D

  • So I see Down on this list. Are we talking phil anselmo and rex brown, former pantera, Down? That would make it kick ass for me. just checked the site and didnt get a band description. If anyone knows that might make or break my trip right there.
    2006: Albany
    2008: MSG I, MSG II, Newark(EV)
    2009: Albany 1-2(EV), Philly 3
    2010: Boston, MSG I
    2013: Buffalo, Brooklyn II, Hartford
    2016: MSG 1, MSG II, Fenway 1
  • Just trying to get some friends together but i'm hoping i can make it down to this this year. I've been trying to get people together for the past 3 years and everybody keeps backing out so i'm not that optomistic. Still considering heading down alone, but it's a pretty long drive from toronto. No doubt it would be killer alone. Still hoping though :)
The line-up looks great, never really had an interest to see Bruce live but i think it'd be a good show. I'm really don't know much of Phish's work, but from everything i've been hearing that's a show that i can't miss (the late night will be awesome after seeing videos of the glowstick wars :) ) I'm a huge NIN fan and am praying that Trent brings the Light In the Sky show just one more time, that would be truly lengendary.. The rest of the line up is great aswell, this should be the festival of the year :) ... I'm hoping for a Theivery Corp addition though

Umm i've heard that NIN has been confirmed for saturday and they "will have a very special spot on the festival’s lineup." I'm thinking it's going to look more like this

    friday
    headliner: Beastie Boys
    late night: Phish

    saturday
    Headliner: Phish
    late night: NIN

    sunday
    Headliner: Bruce

this is without any addition, so we'll see after some of those come up.

AHhhhhhhhhh but that isn't a festival with hotels!!! :)

Also, with Bonnaroo, there is no curfews, which allow the artists a lot of freedom, and for the most part to have full concert sets, sometimes even marathons (i.e. MMJ playin for 4 hours last year) going into sunrise.
