Today I had to pick up a few things at my favorite grocery store Sendik's. It's like Whole Foods but a little cheaper and alot closer. So on my way out I picked up some red and white tulips for someone I will be seeing later tonight. :) Wow did I get the looks from all the woman that saw me put them in my cart. I smiled and made my way to the check out. This is during the day so its not too busy at the check out. Well all the check out girls see the flowers and are making comments to me on how nice they look and asking me who they are for. Needless to say it was a fun day at the grocery store. :D And the moral of the story is woman sure do love flowers, even when they are not for them. lol :)

Very true! But even men like flowers, especially in the winter, I think. I know when ever I bring some home Paul always comments on them. They just look nice and add a touch of nature/beauty. :)

I agree! My husband was the person who encouraged me the most to grow a flower garden years ago and he loves it when I bring fresh flowers into the house, especially roses.

Yeah, I'll have to admit, I'm a sucker for guys who buy women flowers... especially tulips! You certainly would have caught my eye had I been at that grocery store today! :)

flowers are nice, but spontaneous ones more so... arrangements I don't particularly like. Just bring me some cut flowers spur of the moment and I'll be a happy girl. There's nothing like "just because" flowers! :)
    tulips are a favorite!

Oh I love flowers, especially longiform lillies...................I always have a fresh bunch in the living room, they just cheer me up so much.I'm rubbish at looking after plants so flowers is a great way to get some nature in the house.

My honey sent me flowers without any reason a few weeks ago,my heart skipped.

I went the full nine once... doted on this girl endlessly... flowers, jewelry, all of it. She left me for another guy. Now I don't buy shit for anyone. Flowers just die anyway, like love and attraction.

Well, aren't you just a ray of sunshine on this made-me-smile thread!

Sorry about your experience, man, but it might have happened even without the gifts. I still think flowers are one of those inexpensive day-brighteners that most people enjoy. :D

I know, my point was my gf might have her day brightened anyway, whether or not I bring her flowers ;) If I'm not enough to do it, then I don't think flowers are going to fix that :)

I see you are modest too! :P

Whatever works for you. I can't recall my husband ever bringing me flowers when we were dating and only a few times since we were married. Yet we've been married for 30 years.

We both like fresh flowers though and I have a big flower garden. We enjoy having cut flowers in the house or taking them to friends. They are a simple pleasure.

You know what would really make me swoon? A guy who, when choosing flowers for me, made sure to buy ones that wouldn't be poisonous to my cats. That's the kind of thoughtfulness that could steal my heart forever. :o

We've been married 30 years too and I agree. It's not something we buy for each other, but for both of us. Just enjoy having them in the house. I can't think of anyone who doesn't like flowers. :)

I love flowers. Who doesn't love flowers? I send my mom flowers every mother's day...and I have friends who send me some every year on my birthday. And I totally buy my own every chance I get during summer at the farmers market...they just brighten up my room and my day.

Brother... you want looks? I went to the Costco (because the Costco flowers last a real long time)... a bundle of Iris'. The looks might have had something to do with the flowers and the Costco sized box of condoms on the check-out counter. The cashier was a guy... didn't say anything... the gal doing the boxing wished me good luck.

Really, any roses that still have a good scent are a fine choice. The modern hybrids that have lost their smell aren't worth much!! :?
