Even that sentence you quoted wouldn't point to pomposity though. Arrogance maybe, but not pomposity.
this is what is what my thesaurus says:
Main Entry: pompous
Part of Speech: adjective
Definition: arrogant, egotistic
and pomposity is a great word....... pontifical is a good one too. too many to choose from
You went to a thesaurus before a dictionary? Why would you do that?
Here's what the dictionary definition says:
pomp⋅ous
/ˈpɒmpəs/ Show Spelled Pronunciation [pom-puhs] Show IPA Pronunciation
–adjective
1. characterized by an ostentatious display of dignity or importance: a pompous minor official.
2. ostentatiously lofty or high-flown: a pompous speech.
3. characterized by pomp, stately splendor, or magnificence.
well i did. but the dictionary entry for arrogant is remarkably similar, so i just posted the thesaurus one instead. and also, because the point was i didnt think it applied to d2d really, or that you should have bothered responding to the vague post she made, this back & forth here shows why i guess. the thread was someone asking what the purpose of MT is, i guess we just showed him why lots of posters dont like this part of the pit. ah well.
I'm not going to lie - I can barely call what I skimmed through this topic as "reading it", but the whole "there's a civil way to say your opinion" is kinda bullshit. Unless you're overly excessive to the point where you add nothing substantive but insults, you should be able to pretty much argue your point fine. The idea of "neutrality" is also bullshit. I believe it was Dante who said, “the hottest places in Hell are reserved for those who in time of great moral crises maintain their neutrality.”

None of these descriptions apply to me.
