How are you determining best? Best creativity? Best musicianship? Most influential? I could go on and on. There is no way to answer this question.
U2
Led Zeppelin
Pink Floyd/ Roger Waters
Jimi Hendrix
Queen/ Freddy Mercury
Phish
Led Zeppelin
Bob Marley
The Who
Everyone else... Beatles aren't my favourite band... But in my opinion, they're by far the best. They wrote great simple pop songs. Slow piano ballads. They could even rock about as hard as anyone at the time.
LED ZEPPELIN 111.5
EAGLES 100
PINK FLOYD 74.5
AC/DC 71
Since I can't use personal taste or any opinion in this thread, I'll go with bands that have sold the most albums (I removed individual artists from the list). According to strictly album sales, these are the best bands of all time. However, if I were to use musical preference and my own opinion, my list would not be this (although The Beatles would still be on it).
1 is easy as I said, but 2-5 are difficult to pin down. most influential or best as in your personal favorites?
Personally I think the Beatles shouldn't be automatically number one. The Beatles didn't influence me directly at all.
Just because the Model T was the 1st Ford, doesn't it make it the best one ya know?
The Beatles
Led Zep
Radiohead
E- street Band

Agreed. I think people often overrate the Beatles.
