I just applied for a couple internships in Europe this summer, and I'm really hoping I get one of them, I've never been to Europe and have always wanted to go. They actually even let you kind of pick your working schedule so that as long as it averages out to working 5 days a week, if you wanted you could work 15 days in a row then have a week off just to travel and whatnot. If I don't manage to get an internship, I'm planning a huge backpacking trip this summer, hopefully out west, and Europe will have to wait a couple years until I graduate from college"Ah, life is a gate, a way, a path to Paradise anyway, why not live for fun and joy and love or some sort of girl by a fireside, why not go to your desire and LAUGH..."0

chiquimonkey wrote:i'm signed up on farecompare.com that sends me alerts, but wondering if there are any sites people use to keep an eye on good fares for european destinations? me and my sis are going to spain in the fall, and the prices usually run between $750-900 (from SFO). i doubt we'd find anything cheaper, but doesn't hurt to keep an eye out!
thanks in advance for any help0 -

haha, well it's 'no frills', but just fine. Make sure you look at the small print like it'll cost you to use the baggage haul. They like hand luggage, makes it quicker, but at the prices they charge what can you do?
I've flown to Spain a few times, Ireland twice, and Germany with them, never had a problem.
Make sure you book in advance, like as much in advance as possible, because the fares go up nearer the date.
I would also reccomend the hotel link there, very reasonable.I came, I saw, I concurred.....0 -

thanks for the advice, i will definitely check it out as an option if i can find a cheap flight to london, hopping over to madrid from there might be the way to go moneywise, as well as the hotel tip!0 -
Oh, go to Madrid.
It's a beautiful, magical city, just sublime. It truly is the city that has everything... including history
I saw PJ there in 2007, best trip I ever had.
And, I flew with RYANAIRI came, I saw, I concurred.....0 -

And, I flew with RYANAIRi'm thinking if i can get a flight to london on the cheap, then add the fare from london/madrid, that perhaps it wouldn't cost as much as flying directly to madrid. i'll see what trouble i get myself into haha
and how lucky you were to see PJ there....nice!0 -

Don't limit yourself to Ryanair. Ryanair and Easyjet are the obvious UK/Irish based ones, but look further and you've got SkyEurope, Germanwings, Wizzair, Transavia, ThomsonFly, TUIFly, AirBerlin....
skyscanner is bloody awesome to dig up intra-Europe flights115 bucks for half a haircut by a novice? I want my money back!0 -
