The Yankees will not be in the World Series, probably won't win the East and could miss the playoffs all together.
I compare the Rays to the 2007 Rockies and I don't believe they will ever be able to repeat what they did this year. McCarver couldn't stop gushing over the wonderful Rockies and how they would be around for a while with all that great young talent and what happened? That said, I do believe the Rays are a much better team that the Rockies were and they did make some good moves, but I still don't see them having nearly as much success this season.
The Sox kind of concern me because there are so many question marks. Lowell may not be the same; Papi is going downhill fast and doesn't have another real power guy to ensure that he will get pitches to hit (not that he still can hit it them anyway) and while the Sox will have on the best bullpens around I just feel uneasy about the pitching rotation.
Dice-K is kind of like the Rays -- dude was lucky as hell to win five games much less 16 or 17 (whatever he finished with last year). As erratic as he is I just don't think you can count on him to win that many games every year. Wakefield will be a waste. I'm not expecting there to be much production at all, if any, from Smoltz and Penny. Buccholtz shot his wad with a no-hitter and should be traded for he will never make a difference.
Lester and Beckett I believe will be their only reliable pitchers, but even at that you never know how much time becks will miss with a blister or if he will ever be the same as he was before last season. I'm hopeful that Masterson can beef up the rotation a bit though.
But all-star, big-money, big ego teams like the Yankees aren't likely to win a damn thing and I will be laughing my ass off when they go down. And if the Sox aren't going to do it that is enough consolation for me.
Angels will win the west
One of those half ass central teams will win that division
the wild card will come from the east
As for the NL, I don't care.
All I have to do is revel in the everyday....then do it again tomorrow

Well, mistake #1 ... citing something Tim McCarver said.
They have the most important thing to win, stud pitching.
Shields and Kazmir are young and at times dominant ... just about ready to turn the corner into front liners. Garza and Sonnanstine are very good back of the rotation guys and David Price is probably better than all of them, this kid has electric stuff ... barring injury, this rotation is going to be very good.
Carl Crawford was hurt most of last year ... healthy, he'll return to being one of the more dynamic players in baseball.
BJ Upton and Evan Longoria, still have upside and they've been pretty damn fantastic thus far. (and Longoria was out for a month last year)
Pick up of Burrell can't hurt. They still have Carlos Pena ... and they also scooped Matt Joyce from the Tigers, another kid with big time power.
Their only issue, they should have done something to sure up the bullpen. Maybe they do what the Sox did with Papelbon and keep Price in the late innings ...
But, these are not the Rockies. The Rockies won 90 games in the NL West in '07. The Rays won 97 games in the AL East ... big difference. I think the Rays can win 90+ again.

Pffffffffff... HAHAHAHAHAHA. thanks for laugh. seriously. thanks
Yeah I know...Red Sox making it IS funny..and yes the game will be laughable cause the Phils WILL run over whomever it is...face it people...this Phillies team will be back in the series..oh...thats right...Met fans still think they have a shot
Considering that no defending champion has made it to the World Series since 2001, the Phils number 2 starter has never won 15 games and is a head case, the number 3 starter is 46 coming off by far his best season in 5 years, their best setup man and best lefty reliever is out a third of the season and the Phils have a 3,4,5 made up of lefties, I would put the odds not too high on repeating.
Last year was magical and the Phils gelled in October asking that two years in a row is asking a lot.
Case in point, a great season for a closer is a 90% save conversion rate. If Lidge only converts 90% of his saves last year, the Phils missed the playoffs.
The Phils current odds at repeating are 12-1 which is really good and gives them according to Vegas the 7th best odds at winning the Series. But I wouldn't touch that bet. Too many things have to go right for the Phils to repeat.[/quote]
God has spoken... Phillies blow.

I can only imagine how bad the media will be if the Yanks dont play the way they are suppose to.I'm glad we hung onto Cano...way too premature to write him off.And I heard we made some moves this offseason
looks like arron heilman is on the move again. mariners made a smart choice in trading him away so fast. they must have watched some tapes of his outings last season
Ron: I just don't feel like going out tonight
Sammi: Wanna just break up?
it wouldn't surprise me if Heilman gets big outs against the Mets at some point in the season and doesn't get big outs against a team that the Mets are battling with for playoff spots.
