We used to have awesome super bowl parties! I miss them, but since I entered this viewtopic.php?f=4&t=91842 I'm excited again. :)

I used to get a bunch of people together on Saturday before the superbowl and throw a party ... we'd watch superbowl 36 again (I have it saved), the year the Pats won their first superbowl ...

I got the draw this year, so I have 15 pounds of pork ribs and three chickens to do beer-up-the-butt chicken. I provide the meat, everyone else brings side dishes and booze. Great times! I think 14 people plus kids are coming.

Amen to that....never gets old. :)

A friend of mine is coming for the weekend from NJ. This is a stress free Super Bowl for me as the Pats aren't it. So I don't care where I watch it. Might hit a pub downtown here or head to another friend's house. Not sure.

We have a big party every year - we have tons of food - pulled pork and a cake shaped like a football stadium. A chocolate fountain. Oh, and I always make this weird cheese ball shaped like a football. Looks stupid, but tastes great. And seven layer dip, all that stuff.

And there's usually enough beer to fill a swimming pool.

I watch the Super Bowl with the same group of friends every year, have since high school, recent trend has been to watch at my friend Harry's place when the Pats are in the game (which I broke that tradition last year by going to the game, so I am to blame in their eyes for the upset), and to go to one of the Connecticut casinos to watch when the Pats are not involved (been doing that since Denver/Atlanta), so we'll be heading to the new MGM Grand addition at Foxwoods for the game. Maybe I'll run into Bostonlou Sr., who was apparently in the same lounge with me last time the Steelers played.
    This weekend we rock Portland

I am going to a VFW post in West Philly. Apparently they have quite the spread there - lobster, prime rib, open bar, etc. Tickets are like 50 dollars each and sell out really fast. My friend's dad is going through some radiation treatment right now and can't attend and gave his son his 4 tickets so I'll be living it up for free.

Pittsburgh except for maybe the Cowboys has the largest national following of any team in the NFL.

That sounds awesome. I'll be somewhere on the southside in Pittsburgh. In 2005- the bar we were at had a huge Buffet for free and we pretty much drank the place out of beer. I sort of remeber going up to the bar at the end of the night and all they had left were Iron City and Coors Light. I had to start drinking vodka tonics.

No definite plans as of yet... so either home relaxing with some nice pulled pork, wings and other various foods as well as PBR on tap... or off to a friends house for whatever they put together.

    How do you define low?

The SB has had a 40 rating or higher every year since 1972 except for the niners and broncos SB and and least watched SB in the last 10 years was Giants Ravens.

I think it gets a 41 rating with about 88-92 million people watching.
