I remember 30 being pretty painful, but I will be 40 in about 6 weeks, and I feel pretty damn good about it 8-)

it freaks most people out--myself included, but i imagine the big FOUR O is worse. i'll let you know how that goes in less than two years.

Actually, when I turned 30... I felt just fine. :) Thought I'd feel bad or old, but nope. Exactly the same... just 30. I still watch cartoons, make penis jokes and play with the dog the same.

I don't think there's any way to avoid feeling some type up "build up" when approaching 30. We are conditioned to think numbers matter - eg: new year's eve. You'll be fine when you turn. Perhaps sad you're not in your twenties, but happy you're the youngest person in the 30's!

    Very very very true!
I'm 30 and by the time the last of my 3 sons goes to college I'll be 43!!! Woohoooo.... and the party will be ON! :D

I'm almost 25 and feeling depressed about it.
It's strange how you go from a teen to almost 30 so quick, time flies when you are busy working I guess.

I wouldn't say downhill but I remember birthdays getting kind of ho-hum after that point.

    Nope, it's not. ;) You'll see....

I haven't felt good since turning 21, worse every birthday.
What's to look forward to? I am stuck being a corporate slave for the next 60 years Mon-Fri.

I'm sorry you feel that way and I hope it improves. Truly, you do sound depressed, so maybe you should seek medical help. :)

I'm 43 but some of the greatest people I've ever known are in their 50s. It must have been something in the air when they were kids.
