even though they feel remorseful now ,for the team & asshole coach not to realize the wrong they were doing at the time makes me cringe, the coach for the losing team should of just punched the lights out of the winning coach and for the asshole parents to be cheering the team to get to 100 points is totally uncalled for F'N MORON PARENTS ......

I don't get it...I read nothing about a sport in that article...what is this girls basketball it speaks of?
oh shit sorry let me find the article again
And parents in my experience are just about the biggest problem when it comes to high school sports and even little league baseball/softball....it really gets ridiculous sometimes
They say every sin is deadly but I believe they may be wrong...I'm guilty of all seven and I don't feel too bad at all
was like a picture

That said, if they call themselves a Christian school, they ought to have more class. Clearly, there is no values education at that place.
Can Jesus hit the J?
I know the title of the thread is "this is what's wrong with sports in the USA.
But, high school football in Texas may be what's totally f*cked up the universe!!!!

i have had my share of ass whoopn's and have handed my share out......it builds character.
I agree. People need to learn about their weaknesses and strengths. They don't get the full opportunity if people constantly take it easy on them.
I remember the first time someone finally beat me in track sprinting the 200. I was in awe. Before that I totally took it for granted that I would win and I was phoning in practices, etc.
The team that won this game will meet their match and the team that lost probably just had nearly every one of their weaknesses drawn out for them. They can use that to become better players in the future.
exactly i didn't even wan't to point this out but some people here are just plain moronic ,thanks for pointing this out the only silver lining to this story is that the owner of the Dallas Maverics had the whole loosing team come watch a maverics game in hi's own box along with all the parents ...
The one guy said like "Dyslexia" the other guy said no wonder the team thought they were winning...

seems to me that more good has come out of this event, than bad.
I don't think this has anything to do with the "idea of everyone is a winner."
Nobody is complaining that the losing team lost the game. They are complaining about a team running up the score on an obviously weaker opponent for no other reason than than to humiliate the other team.
Also it's important to remember that the losing team isn't the one making a big deal out of it. The winning team is. The leadership within the winning team's school is the one saying how sorry they are that this ever happened. They are trying to forfeit the game because "a victory without honor is a great loss."
what do i win?
Did you just try to answer a question with another question?
Very impressive considering I'm not completely sure what the original question was...
i dunno did I?
i thought the original question was "what's wrong with sports in USA"
so i had a guess.
leave off me, i was drunk and now i'm a bit rough

Oh, and fans may be rabid at our football games but I don't think anyone has ever highjacked a bus to get to the game. Not to mention other endless violence associated with European football.

EV: Los Angeles 4.12.2008, Los Angeles 4.13.2008, Nashville 6.17.2009, Nashville 6.18.2009, Memphis 6.20.2009
Probably the right decision.
i wonder if this would be a big deal if the final score was 99-2 instead - its just the 100 and 0 that makes it look ridiculous. the winning school talking about forfeiting the game is just as ridiculous in my opinion. like most things in life there are bad people and assholes all about - don't make it bigger because it is sports here.
Comparing a professional football team to a high school girl's basketball team is completely ridiculous. And if winning 100-0 feels so good, how come the team that won wants to forfeit the game and the school is publicly saying how ashamed it is?
