even though they feel remorseful now ,for the team & asshole coach not to realize the wrong they were doing at the time makes me cringe, the coach for the losing team should of just punched the lights out of the winning coach and for the asshole parents to be cheering the team to get to 100 points is totally uncalled for F'N MORON PARENTS ......

  • As the sports editor of a small town newspaper I see stuff similar to this all the time. Just last week I was at a game when one team was ahead 60-something to 12 and continued to press until 3 minutes left in the game, the final was like 85-17. There is never a reason for shit like that in high school sports.
And parents in my experience are just about the biggest problem when it comes to high school sports and even little league baseball/softball....it really gets ridiculous sometimes
All I have to do is revel in the everyday....then do it again tomorrow

They say every sin is deadly but I believe they may be wrong...I'm guilty of all seven and I don't feel too bad at all
  • While the players get some blame, I can't really hold that against them... But the coach should have been taken outside of the gym and been beaten up. What a classless jackass... High School coaches are responsible for not only teaching the game, but also helping to teach kids good examples in life.

On the one hand, it's the other team's job to stop them or score themselves. On the other hand, running up a score by full court press is just bad coaching. When you're got the win in the bag, let your players ease off... someone could get hurt. But I see no reason not to keep shooting. Just no need to play such high pressure ball. Competition is a good thing.

That said, if they call themselves a Christian school, they ought to have more class. Clearly, there is no values education at that place.

I agree. People need to learn about their weaknesses and strengths. They don't get the full opportunity if people constantly take it easy on them.

I remember the first time someone finally beat me in track sprinting the 200. I was in awe. Before that I totally took it for granted that I would win and I was phoning in practices, etc.

The team that won this game will meet their match and the team that lost probably just had nearly every one of their weaknesses drawn out for them. They can use that to become better players in the future.

while some of you make valid points i don't agree ,the score at half time was 59-0 the winning coach should of called of the dogs but no they kept shooting threes it was uncalled for .....some example ... it's like having a fight with someone and after you have knocked the other person out you keep on hiiting them even though they are done think about it  ..it's not about learning how to take an asswhipping it's called GOOD SPORTSMANSHIP to the clueless here ...

also.....the idea of everyone is a winner leads to failure.

seems to me that more good has come out of this event, than bad.

I don't think this has anything to do with the "idea of everyone is a winner."
Nobody is complaining that the losing team lost the game. They are complaining about a team running up the score on an obviously weaker opponent for no other reason than than to humiliate the other team.
Also it's important to remember that the losing team isn't the one making a big deal out of it. The winning team is. The leadership within the winning team's school is the one saying how sorry they are that this ever happened. They are trying to forfeit the game because "a victory without honor is a great loss."

oh scary... 40000 morbidly obese christians wearing fanny packs invading europe is probably the least scariest thing since I watched an edited version of The Care Bears movie in an extremely brightly lit cinema.

Yes, with excellent range...his inside game needs some work....shows great hustle on defense.

Did you just try to answer a question with another question?
Very impressive considering I'm not completely sure what the original question was...
