A friend and I drove up from Charleston S.C to Greenville for a show back in 98. we both had a G.A. ticket.Well we ended up loosing each other with in like the first 3 songs.Well the show ended and I started to look for my friend and about 10 min later I see Melfi stumbling toward me and he had lost both of his shoes and his socks were hanging about 8" off his feet and they were completely black from them getting stepped on.lol :lol::lol:

  • back at the ice bowl back in oct 00 in East Troy only time I ever had front row with fan club tix. It was like 30 degrees out. The guys are freezing, we're all freezing and jumping the whole time to stay warm. About 2 songs in Mike mouths to Stone (or was it vice versa?) "My hands are frozen" and Stone mouth's back "Mine too" with a smile.

When you listen back to the boot, not the best guitar work, but we all understand, it's ok.

i agree with the mansfield show this past summer...that was classic.

another i have was funny only in retrospect. it was cleveland '03, where ed was walking around during RITFW after consuming the usual bottle and a half of wine, hitting the wings to throw tambourines out, etc., and at one point he just fell STRAIGHT down off the stage onto the ground, and definatly not feet first. it looked BAD, i think we were all a bit worried...the band kept jamming, and he eventually climbed back on the stage. he then got on his knees, started praying, and the guys started cracking up. once we realized he was OK, then it turned into a "man, eddie was so drunk he fell off the stage" story, which is funnier than if he got hurt, for sure.

Before the Maui1998 show I saw a guy with sizers clipping grass from the field and putting it into a container. He told me he was going to save it as a keepsake.

The cow guy and Stone in Mansfield, it was funny.

that's what i was thinking

In '06 at one of the Boston shows Ed was dancing around like a mad man while the band was jamming and while running backward Ed tripped...was flat in the air then flat on his back!..i was like "oh shit!" then he stayed on the floor for awhile..reached for his wine and had a few chugs while chatting with some people in the front row...then just at the last second he jumps up and grabs the mic to finish the song...i don't remember what song it was cause i was just as buzzed as him...but it was AWESOME!

    At St Lou 03.......

Ed was feelin pretty good. He went over behind Stone's rig, kinda by Boom and kinda ducked outta view. Popped back out, walkin back to position he let out the biggest cloud of smoke I've ever seen, took a few more steps and biffed on his own feet.

Was also at Boston 2 08, and the Cowman was hysterical. It didn't really look like it was Stone's first rodeo, if ya know what I mean. :o

I am finally free from no posting purgatory! That being said I thought it was funny/awesome at Bonner Springs during the monsoon rain storm when Mike sorta fell down from the wet stage and then while he was laying on his back just kept playing

cowman was in full effect that night. top choice for me as well. i actually know the guy. he got to keep the tamborine and some picks. he claims it's his favorite coup of all the shows he's ever worn that too.
I love to turn you on

as taken from Five Horizons, they just sum it up way better then I could.

Finally, at the beginning of the second encore the band comes out dressed as the Village People! Jeff is the construction worker, Matt is the soldier, Ed is the Indian, Stone as a policeman, and Mike as a biker. Incidently, Mike is wearing chaps, but no pants, just black underwear. Jeff goes over and pulls Mike's underwear down in the back twice, and then finally at the end of the solo, pulls the whole thing down, and Mike has to go over in the corner and hide behind a monitor to finish the solo. Fun show.

It was a great show and quite funny.

Besides the cow incident, which borders on bizarre, another funny thing I remember was a little story Ed told in St. Johns, Newfoundland 9/05. Apparently some girl was ditched by her boyfriend who took another girl to the show. The girl was trying to scalp tickets but one of the crew saw her & hooked her up and she got to stand on the side of the stage all night. So at one point Ed brings her out to introduce her to the crowd and tell the storey, and as he's doing it, he puts his arm around her and then calls out her boyfriend saying it was the biggest mistake that guy ever made cause instead of being in his seat out there in the crowd somewhere, he could have been right there up on stage under Ed's other arm.

The last Melbourne show 06. Eddie came out with a cup and a 50 cent coin. He explained he had learned this game from some Aussies, and he was going to try it. You put the 50c coin in between your but cheeks, and have to walk over the cup, and drop the coin in. He missed
At the end of the show, as they were walking off stage, Stone picked up the coin, and tried it - he got it in! crowd went wild.

one of the funniest/best moment I have had at a pj concert was at bonnaroo. It was right before they were about to let us into the pit and we had been waiting at the front of the line since we were allowed to run to the pit line. tons of people just started trying to cut in and push forward. throughout the day we were this a group of guys i had met the year before at lolla and one of them tell us to lift him up. so we lifted him up and he started yelling an epic speech about how everyone had to stay together and not let anyone past us. it is probably one of those "you had to be there" things
