Anyone think there's a chance Ed or a couple of the guys show up at some of the concerts in DC this weekend?

All have been outspoken supporters of Obama. The Sunday concert at Lincoln Memorial is epic, with many friends of the band participating.

And on Monday the Beastie Boys are playing 930 Club with a few other bands...maybe a surprise performance?

i doubt any of the guys will show up at that 9:30 club show. i just saw it on the club's website like 5 minutes ago. but beastie boys, sheryl crow, and citizen cope doesn't exactly sound like a place where the boys would drop in for a guest spot. at least IMO.

what's going on at the lincoln memorial? i've been so out of the loop with what is going on lately.

PJ and the Beastie Boys are friends...they played the BB Tibetan Freedom Concert (Ed played it twice).

U2, Springsteen, Stevie Wonder, James Taylor, many more at Lincoln Memorial.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Ed show up and play with Bono or Bruce....Each artists is only going to play a song or two though, so I wouldn't expect much...

Still plan to head there for a little bit.

Anyone here have an extra Beasties ticket? That sold out too quickly....

Troops moving in an urban area... white phosphorus used as a smoke screen... don't see chemical warfare there... unfortunate civilian casualties, definitely.

You talk so tough Mr. Anonymous message board guy. You should invest more time in trying to make the world a better place as opposed to being strident from the comfort of your keyboard. I also find it humorous that you chose an apolitcal sports icon as your profile pic. Why not go with a pic of Yassar Arafat or Osama bin Laden instead Mr. anti-America?

first of all I like Basketball and MJ has been my "hero" since i was very young

2nd tough talk?? funny..i don't see how diagreeing with murder and calling scum what they are is considered tough talk

3rd I am more pro-american and more of a patriot than you could ever know!! but only in the spirit of people like Patrick Henry or Thomas Jefferson...not these pseudo patriots and bullshit politicians
who hide behind the troops and try and point their fucking fingers at anyone who dares disagree with their hegemonic murder spree in the middle east and label them anti-american....and judging by your ignorant Yassar Arafat, Osama bin Laden comment..it's clear you aren't nearly informed enough to try and debate me so i will not waste any more time with you.

So? Just because 2 bands played the same bill doesn't mean they are friends, I guess PJ and Linkin Park are best buddies because they opened for them in Poland?:lol:

And just to keep the history correct.....Ed played the Tibetan Freedom Concert three times....first in '96 with Mike, then with PJ in '98, and then in '99 ( I think...was that the Chicago one?).

A thread asking if Pearl Jam is playing any of the inauguration concerts is mos def pearl jam related, its your extreme left and right wing nut jobs that have turned it into a political thread. If anything they should take it to PM's.

Maybe if you want to have a real discussion, sound intelligent and not use terms like douche-bag. That's just being confrontational and as a result makes you look like a 13 year old keyboard commando. Also, using punctuation and capital letters would be good start.

Let me guess, you probably think 9/11 was a conspiracy and the jews fabricated the Holocaust. You keep reading your subversive books and articles and blogs and thinking you are so much better than everyone that doesn't agree with your viewpoint and let me know in 10 years how far it has gotten you.

Wow, what an original critcism of American citizens. You must have worked really hard to come up with that observation on your own.

calling Obama a douche bag isn't "confrontational"...calling PatRiot one would be.

punctuation and capital letters huh?? are you fucking serious??

yes...i know 9-11 was an inside job, whether you can comprehend that or not doesn't change the fact.

and spare me the tinfoil hat jokes...there are many ex-CIA,FBI,military and foreign dignitaries who say the same thing.

Some people are still capable of independent thought and aren't spoon fed their "news" or run around parroting misinformation that they were to apathetic to analyze themselves.

So because its not original enough CRITICISM for you means its not valid CRITICISM?

To answer the original question, there is a chance, but I imagine it is very small. I think this weekend is a little too high profile for Ed and company. I wouldn't bank on them showing up, but it would be cool. I'll be there for what it's worth. I am really excited. It's been pretty dark around here the past eight years.
