Sure there's a little lizard head. We all see it. Things are going to be just fine Jeanie. Just lay back and relax. Those restraints are for your safety.

I usually download my reply to thread emails in Microsoft outlook and just click on the link and then log in.

But the little lizard head he's been watching me for a couple of days now.

I'm on Windows XP, so I don't know where he's come from. I like him. Just wondered if anyone else had him. :)

It's gone chino. :( Just vanished as mysteriously as it came.

It was just a head, a pinkish lizard head with a beady grey eye.

Thanks MCKB. :) I figure it's got something to do with all the rigmaroll we've had going on since we got the update of our virus protection.
Although I guess if it's gone now, at least that part of the package must be working. Well EVENTUALLY. Little pink lizard was here for a couple of days.

Just killing time at work, so I thought I'd google "Pink Lizard" but the results were inappropriate.

Well, I had this 'eye' thing that kept popping up. I thought we sorted it but it just happened again. Hopefully yours has gone for good.

Both of you might try going to "start", then "run", type in "msconfig", click the "startup" tab and uncheck anything that isn't required by your hardware.

Websites like tasklist.org can tell you what the startup items do. Anything required for your hardware, at least, should be described, anything unknown is probably spyware/adware.

For example, you might have an NVidia graphics card, in which case NWiz.exe will be in your startup list, searching for this on tasklist.org results in this and the following description and recommendations:

Description: Associated with the newer versions of nVidia graphics cards drivers. Allows you to immensely improve desktop layouts by setting preferences and optimizations. However, this isn't necessary for the operation of your system

Recommendation: Not required - typically infrequently used tasks that can be started manually if necessary

In this particular case you can remove it to save startup time and increase performance.

I was with you right up until you said 'Both of you'. :D

Seriously, thanks. I'll try that tomorrow.

    Thanks Ryan! :)
That might be where I can get rid of that crss.exe thingy that comes up when I turn on now.

The lizard, I suspect was a spy. Cute but a spy none the less.

I'll have a poke around and see what I can see. :)
