I remember one time my gran's sister asking me if i liked athletics as it was television. She then said she didnt mind it but there far too many 'darkies' now and that the javelin suited them because they were used to chucking spears. It made for interesting listening some of the things they used to come out with!!The Astoria??? Orgazmic!

I gotta admit I fell into the same stereotyping straight after September 11. I caught a plane about a week after and this Arab man sitting across from me got up to go to the toilet and I like everyone else on the plane were freaking out until he returned to his seat. Looking back now it was a ridiculous over reactionWhy do people with closed minds always open their mouth0

I think a lot of people were like that. I probably would've acted the same way..not proud of it but Im sure I would have. These cuts are leaving creases. Trace the scars to fit the pieces, to tell the story, you don't need to say a word.0 -

After Sept 11th I swore I would never fly. That sounds ridiculous now but it was so upsetting seeing all that play out.Heineken Helen wrote:We were in Turkey when it happened and had to fly home a week later. We joked about it... but I think the fact that we were surrounded by Muslims when it happened kinda softened the blow of getting on a plane, which sounds weird. But yeh, there was a lot of nervous joking on the way home. After a couple of hours I said, half jokingly, 'for all we know we could be about to fly into the whitehouse' although I'm sure we woulda known since it would have added probably another 6 hours onto the flight

The reality is it was probably the safest time ever to fly with security being at an all time high...but no way I felt safe at the time and trust me if I hadnt of booked that flight months earlier no chance I was flying anywhere at that timeWhy do people with closed minds always open their mouth0

I haven't...but that's because I haven't had the opportunity. I almost went on trip. These cuts are leaving creases. Trace the scars to fit the pieces, to tell the story, you don't need to say a word.0 -
My favorite ones are the ones that go against each other if you add them together.
Like the English all talk like cockneys and all dress in top hats and such. That and the belief that they all still have this stiff upper lip, emotionless, aloof attitude. Well yeah. When other people fear and hate white people, it is just referred to as "common sense". Just ask my Cherokee ancestors.Idaho's Premier Outdoor Writer
