    ...Not saying anything...

I will just keep on bitching about Papel-face. Because that's what I do.

Aumont looks really scary to bat against, esp for righties.

Well really we just need to win and not worry what the other teams do. But I guess the answer would be a series split or at worse a 3-1 Dodgers series victory.

Whichever team is ahead in the standings, we want to lose.

Yeah but the reason he's asking is because the Cards are in the second wildcard spot and the Dodgers are one game back as they begin their 4 game series. So we'd be best off with a split.....I think.

I think this is the answer.

If we just win our last 21 games there's nothing to worry about. ;)

The "home & home" vs. Boston is kind of weird, but cool.

on the other hand....if one team were to get swept, they'd pretty much be out of your way for good....

Yeah but having one team out of the way for good doesn't outweigh the other team extending their lead. Frankly, I'm not sure what I want out of the other teams.

Here's a question though. What's the tie-breaker rules? Like say for instance St. Louis, Pittsburgh, and Philly all tie for the 2nd wildcard spot. Or even make it a four-way tie with Los Angeles. How do they determine who plays the Braves in the one game playoff?

Three-way tie for 2 Wild Card spots

In a situation where there is a three way tie between non division winners and there is no other non division winner with a better record claiming wild card 1; a tiebreaker eliminating 1 of the 3 teams will follow. Based on a group head to head record. Teams A B and C will be created. Team B will travel to team A. The winner wins wild card one. The loser will go to team C. The winner of that game wins wild card two. After those 2 games, wild card teams one and two will play each other in the wild card round . Can be an" A\B rematch". This information was provided to me by the MLB Commissioners office.
    Three-way ties among division winners

If there is a three-way tie among all division champions, the team with the best record against both of the other division champion is given the top seed with the remaining teams seeded as follows:

Head to head record between other 2 division winners.
Best overall record in the regular season ignoring interleague play.
The team with the best record in the final 81 games of the season, ignoring interleague play.
The team with the best record in the final 82 games of the season, extending backward until the tie is broken (since teams in the same division play each other as much as 19 times, this step is guaranteed to break the tie, with interleague games skipped and ignored in this process.)

If neither team has a better record against the other teams, immediately go to above tiebreaker.
    Ties among four teams

The four teams draw lots, as teams A, B, C, and D. On the first day team B plays at team A and team D plays at team C. The next day the winners of these games play each other at the ballpark of either team A or B (depending on who won the game).

need stl to get swept. they still have 7 games with houston.

really need to contract the central divisions. such cesspools

brewers might be best set up for a WC run...

    Milwaukee's remaining schedule:

    Wednesday: Braves
Sept. 14-16: home vs. New York Mets
    Sept. 18-20: at Pittsburgh Pirates
    Sept. 21-24: at Washington Nationals
    Sept. 25-27: at Cincinnati Reds
Sept. 28-30: home vs. Houston Astros
Oct. 1-3: home vs. San Diego Padres

A major question about the Brewers-Reds series -- which could be crucial -- is what kind of mode Cincinnati is in by then. The Reds' magic number for wrapping up the NL Central stands at 10, and they likely will clinch just before that series is played. Dusty Baker could use the last days of the regular season to prepare his team for the postseason by resting some of his everyday guys and his relievers; they just shut down reliever Aroldis Chapman. There won't be any need for the Reds to push.

    him hitting .230?

you're right. he needs to raise his avg 70 points to get to his playing weight. someone needs to chain his fat ass to a treadmill

His presence has helped this team. If he's not in this lineup this team is pushing for Marlins for the basement. Him being there, even playing badly has allowed the lineup to take shape. Even you can't argue that.
