the mlb at bat app is awesome. finally got it this year. i wish there wasn't a 30 second delay with the broadcast though.

comes in handy when walking the dog or watering the grass and stuff (it is still april right? where's all the fucking rain at?? :x )

on the other hand....the phils struggling only amplifies how horrible mccarthy and wheels are on tv. i can almost tolerate them when winning 102 games...but not this year so far.

long season gentlemen. if they can continue to hover around .500 and not fall too far behind come mid june or so, we'll be alright when re-reinforcements come back. this stupid extra wild card might come in handy this year.

problem with this theory is that no one has any idea what those 'reinforcements' are going to provide...or if they can be depended on for the rest of the year assuming they do come back

if they want to actually do something in the playoffs this year (assuming they get there) they are going to have to improve this shitty offense. Not gonna be easy

true. but then you also have to assume some these guys in the current lineup will start to play closer to their career averages as the season progresses.

take 3 of 4 from this farm team this weekend, then you're back over .500, have won 5 of 7 and feeling pretty good before these division rivals come up on the schedule. we'll see what happens.

i kinda like being the underdogs again. been a while

see I disagree with the assumption that guys are going to improve to their career averages. This is an old team. None of these guys are in their primes (except maybe pence and victorino). Guys like wigginton, thome, mayberry, rollins, polanco...their best years are behind them. or they just aren't good in mayberry's case

april was supposed to be the easy part of the schedule. they have their work cut out for them. amaro needs to get his ass in gear and start figuring out how to fix this mess he's constucted (which I have no faith will happen)

honestly did you think their record would have been significantly better at this point?

i didn't. those guys are past their prime, but they should start to play at least to where they were the last couple years.

talk to me in mid june. if they're under .500 and 9 games back, then we're obviously screwed. way to early to say that now.

okay it's been fun kids. be good.

with the schedule that they have played, yes I thought they'd have a better record than they do.

if you don't see the offense being an issue...well, then I don't know what to tell you.

then again, you're the one that called the wigginton move 'solid'

    you're better than that...right? :?

    talk to you later.

I'd like to see a Juggler/Fixer boxing match. One time for all time. Ryan Howard in Juggler's corner. Fixer's mom in his corner. Phillie ball-girls holding up cards with the round numbers. The Phanatic as the ref. Ruben Amaro, Charlie Manuel, and myself as the judges. 10 rounds. No three-knockdown rule. May the best man win.

i wouldn't say stinks (although at times they play like it). They are about "average" now. They still have great starting pitching and their offense every so often comes out. :?

I really don't like this team at all. chooch, rollins, the big 3...victorino is 50/50...pence is ok. that's about it. I will like thome again once he's not on the roster anymore
